    Perfect for my tesla

I drive 30 miles daily and this charger is all I need for my day to day. It charges my car 7 mph, so if I get home at 10pm wake up at 7am I get a good days worth while I sleep. It also hasn’t impacted my power bill no more than $30/40 per month.

Works well on jeep wrangler 4xe

So I ordered this to charge my jeep wrangler 4xe. On a regular outlet my car would take about 12 hours to fully charge. With this outlet it takes about 5 hours. This outlet would work well for home use too if you have the correct outlet installed. Travel case and I home wall mounted stand is included.

Very nicely built EVSE with J1772 plug. Compatible with Tesla using adapter

This EVSE is built very nicely. I love that it has a screen indicating the current operating temperature, voltage, amperage, and charge time.I’m using this EVSE with my Tesla Model 3 with the J1772 to Tesla adapter and it works like a charm. The unit itself, the housing, the cable, and the J1772 connector feels very well made and solid.I have been able to use this EVSE continuously for all night charges and the operating temperature doesn’t get too hot. Disclaimer: I am setting this to a max of 30A as opposed to the maximum capable output of 32A.This EVSE uses the 14-50P, so you’ll need a 14-50R at home. I would recommend purchasing a commercial grade NEMA 14-50R. The ones from from Hubbell are excellent, but you can get it at a fraction of the cost at Grainger. I am not an electrician, so consult with a licensed electrician if you aren’t sure what you’re doing. This EVSE also includes an adapter allowing you to plug it in to a 120V receptacle (5-15R/P) . Note that you shouldn’t be pulling 16A if it’s 14AWG wiring and a 15A circuit. You need to manually decrease the amperage your vehicle pulls. for a 15A circuit, you should really only be pulling 12A continuously unless it’s a 20A circuit with 12 AWG wiring, then it would be acceptable to pull 16A due to the 80% continuous load rule.Again, consult with a licensed electrician if you don’t know what you’re doing. Overall, this product works great and I’m very happy with it.I am using it for home charging, so it works great for me but for someone traveling with this adapter, it is certainly more bulky than the one that Tesla sells. The benefit is that this EVSE can charge any EV out there that uses the standard J1772 port. It’s also a huge plus/benefit that a carrying case is included for when you travel to keep your vehicle clean, especially when the cable gets dragged along the ground or dirt. The price is also excellent, it’s very competitive with other EVSEs out there, but this one also includes a small screen to monitor the amount of energy the EVSE is pulling. You can use that information to compare from your vehicle’s app.Keep in mind you will need to be careful as there is a delay when unplugging, make sure you press the button to stop the charging, wait a second, then pull the connector out of the car. that will ensure the relay has a chance to kill the circuit completely.

Fine charger, but there are definitely better adapters

First off, there are far better J1772 to Tesla adapters out there. I mean, far far far better. I actually just looked at this one, messed with it for a bit, and then tossed it on a shelf in my pole barn.Using a much better Tesla adapter, this had no problems charging my Aunt’s Model X and my cousin’s Model 3. Without the adapter, it also had no problem charging my Rav4 Prime and my wife’s useless EV6 GT (don’t buy one of those things unless you want to hypermile nonstop and never touch the go pedal because they can get less than 100 miles on a charge in the middle of winter with a driver with a lead foot, as my wife has been discovering lately). The 120v adapter also works just fine if you need it. Obviously, level 1 charging is slow, but that’s just how it is. Yes, 32a at 240v is 7.68kWh. That’s literally what a 32a charger is, unless it’s 3 phase, which this isn’t and neither is your wiring. 32×240=7,680. Yes, if your wiring doesn’t provide 240v (which it probably doesn’t), it’s going to be less. No, using a different charger is not going to re-wire your house. If you want more than 7.68kWh, go buy a 40a charger or hardwire a 50a charger. There isn’t a magical 32a 240V single phase charger out there that your uncle’s cousin’s brother’s friend’s college roommate’s father’s mother in law’s vacuum salesman had in his garage that puts out 50kWh. That’s not how math works. The screen on this is tiny, but that’s par for the course for EV chargers. You do set the charge rate before you plug it into the car, but that’s also normal. I am happy that it has two buttons instead of one for both rate selection and delay. I never use delay, because my electricity always costs the same amount. The smart life app is one you may already have. It controls everything imaginable, so if you have a bunch of smart junk in your house, you might already have it on your phone. Mine was already controlling a different EV charger…and a nightlight for my kids. The app is very easy to use if you actually use it, which absolutely no one who uses this charger does. I played around with it and then forgot about it. It is intuitive, if apps are your thing. Remember, you have to have dual band (or just 2.4Ghz) Wi-Fi for this to work. Most modern routers are dual band, but sometimes it’s not enabled. If this refuses to connect to your Wi-Fi, check that in your router settings.Build quality seems pretty good. Everyone on the farm loves yelling „MURICA!“ or „FREEDOM FRIES!“ every time they see the angry looking sharp seagull on the front. Thus far, I haven’t had to consult the error code color chart, since it has never had any error codes. It’s not terribly complicated, if it ever comes to that. Blue or green? Good. Purple or red? Bad.

    Convenient and Comprehensive

Being new to the electric car scene, I recently picked up the Tera Electric Vehicle Charger for my Tesla model 3, and I’m thoroughly impressed. This charger is exactly w with its blend of portability and convenience. The standout feature of the Tera charger is its sleek portability. Unlike clunky chargers, this one is compact and lightweight, perfect for on-the-go charging. Whether I’m on a road trip or visiting friends, I can keep the charger in the Frunk and top off whenever/wherever I need it.What’s even better is that the package includes everything needed to juice up my car. With the charger itself, along with adapters and connectors, there’s no need for additional purchases. It’s an all-in-one solution, ready to go right out of the box. I should eventually have the higher-grade outlet installed in my garage so I can take full advantage of the charger but even plugging it into a standard charger has worked GREAT for me so far.Overall, the Tera Electric Vehicle Charger has been a game-changer for me as a newbie in the electric car world. I highly recommend the Tera charger to anyone seeking a seamless charging experience for their electric vehicle.

    A great investment! Solid quality

Been a game-changer, seriously. It’s like, plug it in at home and you’re good to go, no need to scout for public charging stations unless you really have to. The charger’s portable, so it’s easy to just throw it in the trunk and have it ready whenever, wherever—super handy for trips or when you’re not sure about the charging spots out there. The charging speed’s pretty decent, gets the job done without making you wait forever. Level 1’s good for overnight charges, and Level 2’s faster, so when you need a quicker boost, it’s there. Didn’t have to mess with any complicated setup, just straight out of the box, plug into a standard outlet, and my Tesla starts juicing up.

    Works with 2022 Model Y

This charger works with Tesla Model Y, the set comes with the J1772 to NACS adapter. The maximin charging current could be adjust with the button or thru the app. I’m still try to enable swipe with app to charge feature sine the charger will be mounted outside the house. Overall, good EV charger will continue use it.

    Cut charging time in half

Charger is made of plastic outer shell with thick 10awg charger cord.During charging, the cord gets slightly warm and the charger body is a bit warmer. An acceptable 110 degree temperature reading on the case.Charger connector is ok but the release doesn’t have much spring. I had to jiggle the connector in order for the release button to pop up when inserted for charging, otherwise it doesn’t charge. The cord is about 22 ft long and made of a less pliable outer shell. Will have to see how this holds up in time. Otherwise the charger works and charges as expected. This charger is versatile covering 2 voltages, portable and compatible with Tesla (not tested).Contents of kit: charger, Tesla adapter, connector wall mount with holster/wire rest, a NEMA 240 volt to 110 volt adapter and a case to hold it all.

Comes with multiple accessories , flexible power charging

This EV charger contains the Level 2 charger unit along with several accessories. It has a converter plug too, this will allow you to charge at any standard 110 V outlet for Level 1 charging. It has the J1772 plug at much slower (15 Watts) charge rate. It also works with Tesla EV charging adapter so you can charge all models of Teslas. It comes with a carrying bag as well as a wall holder if you want to keep it at home. It has good flexibility but I use it strictly for traveling since I have another charger mounted at home

Great quality product, comes with just about everything you need

This is a level 1/2 charger that is dripping with build quality. Right out of the box you can tell it’s well-made – the parts are sturdy, the cable is thick and shielded, and the charger itself is a very solid piece of equipment. It also comes with a full set of accessories – to include a Tesla adapter, mounting hardware, and detailed instructional booklet. The only thing I had to buy for it was a NEMA 14-30 adapter so that I could plug it into my dryer outlet. It does have quite a reach with the 25′ cable (in actuality, with the adapters plugged in I think the whole thing might be longer). Our dryer is located right next to the interior garage door, and it’s long enough to run from that all the way along the side and back of the car to reach our Model Y’s charge port – without having to back the car into the garage. It’s much better than using the 14-30 on the Tesla mobile adapter, which we had to back the car in for because it’s a good deal shorter. It seems to charge a bit faster than the mobile connector as well – I was getting around 30 MPH charge on the 14-30 plug. The downsides are not many, but worth noting. The biggest annoyance for me is that the Tesla adapter does not have the nice button that the proprietary plug does. So whenever you use it you need to manually open the charge port and when you’re done release the plug via the app. Also, the cable is thicker and tougher than the Tesla mobile adapter so it’s a bit of a pain to coil and store. Similarly, the charging „brick“ is also quite a bit bigger. It still fits into a fairly small bag, though. We keep that conveniently in the „bonus storage“ space in our 5 seater MY where the 3rd row would have been. This charger sits in the included bag, and we put all of the adapters in the Tesla mobile connector bag (see pics). All that said, we use the Tesla mobile connector as our primary day-to-day charger, but pull this one out if we need a faster charge. The rest of the time it sits in the hidden compartment as a good emergency option. I’m very happy with the product overall and it works great for our system.

Solid performer at a fraction of the cost of OEM chargers.

It took me a while to post this review, probably because I was trying to break it. I was unsuccessful, this is a solid performer in the charging arena, able to charge both Tesla and a wide variety of other vehicles via the J1772 port. It does have a scheduling feature, but for most users, it’s a plug-and-go wonder. The materials are great quality, put up with the abuse I handed out with ease. Recommended.

    Safe and no hassle.

My big concern buying when I started looking at this, given that it is not a super well-known brand was that the electronics were not up to safety standards. This was the second charger I bought for my car, so I was coming off of a previous experience (from a different manufacturer) that was less than ideal. What I was looking for was some kind of UL certified product, or maybe ETL as a reputable alternative. It really isn’t obvious on the listing whether this has those ratings. But I did some digging and I found some posts on Reddit showing how a whole bunch of the components are certified, and that there may even be a listing for the full unit that just isn’t being advertised, which seems nuts.Anyway, what I can tell you is that I brought it home and plugged it in and the thing just works flawlessly. The screen is easy to use, and unlike the previous model I tried it didn’t reset itself into an error every time I unplugged my car. So it was a huge upgrade from there. It seems well built, the material seem decent, so really I wouldn’t hesitate on this one it’s the right mix of quality and price. Pull the trigger and see it yourself.

Short term review: Very impressed! – Long term review: Jury still out…

I bought this charger for mobile use, and the Tera 50A wall mount charger here on Amazon for permanent home use, ahead of taking delivery of my Tesla Model Y. Given the price, I was a little skeptical of the quality with these, but I took a shot with a 30 day free return / review window so I had something to charge the new vehicle with when I got it. These were so affordable, that buying both still cost me less than a single charger of most other brands.Long story short – after about 6 weeks of ownership, I’m very impressed with both. This portable 32A charger has been pretty much flawless thus far – it’s been a workhorse charging the Model Y without issue on the go with no weird overheating issues or anything else. It came with a J1772 to NACS adapter so I didn’t have to buy that separately, it comes with adapters allowing it to use both a nema 14-50 receptacle and a standard American 120V/15A plug to charge just about anywhere, and it does the smart Bluetooth and wifi thing with both the SmartLife and Tuya apps. Good long cord for charging flexibility, yet fits in a small enough case to throw in your frunk or under trunk or lots of other storage places in your Tesla to keep with you. Also comes with some nice wall mounting options if you want to make it your permanent charger – and it certainly has enough power at 32A & 240V to be the main garage charger for most everybody if need be.Although I’ve been very impressed thus far – and I have actually used all the functions, features, and charging scenarios to be able to say that honestly and fully, here are some bits of feedback that Tera can use to improve the product:1. The J1772 to NACS adapter does come with a special plastic ring to basically bind the J1772 to the NACS connector in an innovative way for us Tesla owners. But the ring comes with no instructions, and it’s not incredibly well designed to keep the adapter permanently mounted to the J1772 end. I had to be creative with some electrical tape to keep the adapter connected, and it’s still not ideal. So Tera needs to make this adapter ring and it’s tabs and attachments a little more robust, include some proper instructions for how to use install the ring properly for a good tight, permanent fit, or, with everyone switching to NACS shortly anyway on the cars, just come out with a Tera charger option where it just has a NACS connector permanently connected on the end and no J1772 at all.2. It would be nice if you could adjust the charging modes, timer, and other options on the fly while charging. As it stands now, the charger needs to be plugged in to the wall, but disconnected from the car / not charging, to change any options. This is the case when trying to change options on the charger itself with the touch sensitive buttons or the app controls via wifi or Bluetooth. This could probably just be changed with a firmware update via the SmartLife or Tuya apps too – if Tera is so inclined.3. To make this thing even more adaptable, inclusion of a nema 14-30 to nema 14-50 adapter would be useful too. This would allow plugging the car in on most home’s dryer or range receptacles for a faster than 120V charge speed without needing a special nema 14-50 receptacle that many homes don’t have.Otherwise, though, very impressed. Charges well, long charging cord for plugging in all over the garage and even outside it, quality construction, and great included accessories for a Tesla. If I can remember to do it, I will come back and post a long term review or update this if I have any issues over time. But at this moment on 11/25/23, I wholeheartedly endorse this product for quality and price. Nice job Tera! (And here’s hoping this review provides some good feedback for future product updates down the road!)

So good for the price, I bought one for my son too

I use the tesla app so I cannot comment on the product app. Otherwise it works perfect and the cables are amazingly thick (much heavier gauge than the tesla brand, I have that one too). I will probable buy a third one when my wife decides on her new EV.

    Solid EV Charger

I purchased this on sale for $99 which was a steal since it’s normally priced at $249. For the price it was a great buy. After a month of use, so far no issues. It’s plugged into a 240v outlet and charges way faster than my charger that’s plugged into a 120v outlet in my garage. The only reason this gets 4 stars and not 5 is because the charging gun seems to be made of relatively cheap plastic and I don’t know how long it will last. Also the button for the “locking lever” on the gun doesn’t work well, making it sometimes difficult to pull out of the charging port, and almost impossible to pull out of the holster of the gun/cord holder that comes with it (and why the gun is just hanging loose and not in the holster in my picture). But the control box has a nice design and screen and is easy to use. Overall a nice EV charger (especially if you can get it on sale).

The BEST charger for EV available right now

After spending many hours researching and reviewing EV chargers we chose the Tera Electric Vehicle Charger for our Level 1 & 2 Portable charging. We own a PHEV and only use 16 of the available 32 Amp capability but the charger works flawlessly for our vehicle, it barely feels warm to the touch after 6 hours use to fully charge our 20 kW battery pack. My brother owns a full BEV and it ran for over 5 hours at 32.5 Amps and provided him with over half of his 100 plus kW back again. It did get warm this time but never hot which was a really nice test of its capabilities. With our little Hybrid we should get years of great use out of our new TERA charger. We don’t use half of its capability or features but it does Everything we could hope for. It is at least 3 times faster than the Level 1 OEM unit that came with our new car and has a nice Digital Display of the Amperage, Voltage and kWh used per charging session. For us a Full Charge is 14.6 Amps at 238 Volts and up to 20 kW typically. That only costs us $3. Most of the time 1 or 2 dollars is all we need for a top up. My brother’s half big charge was less than $6. Fantastic. After several weeks use we are confident the TERA charger will provide years of inexpensive power for our PHEV. With the spare 120 Vac adaptor and all the great accessories we are thrilled. Thank you very much TERA for a great charger at a reasonable price with all the features as well. Very happy customers…. 🙂

    Solid charger.

Simple enough just using the three prong outlet. Not sure if it’s the voltage/wattage of the outlet im using but averages about 12/15 watt charging. And lastly I believe it will adapt to non Tesla EV chargers. Recommend the buy.

    It works BUT

So i finally got it to work. the customer support number was useless, I left message no response. second number i called answered but no one spoke… so, when you first plug it in, set the timer and current it says in manual. Not the clearest of instructions but spend a few minutes you will figure it out. Problem is the screen is small and the buttons are not reactive. the timer button works decent enough. and here is where the BUT comes in. the current button is difficult to use. i pressed it just like the timer button. Nada no response. pressed again nada, pressed harder nada…. after pressing it a few minutes i got a display that showed for 1/2 second not kidding. so quick i barely noticed what it says. so kept pressing again and again cause the button is not responsive finally figured out when it shows plug n play. leave it at that and you can now plug it in the EV. what is the other function when toggling the current button? I have no idea as it did not let the unit function in that mode.

You can set your charging rate higher than 12A.

By default, at 120VAC, the charger will lower from 15A to around 10 to 12A after a while. This is a safety standard, being around 80% of 15A.TIP: Using your tesla app, you can set, to start and to maintain a higher charging rate at around 14A. This solely depends and varies on your home wiring, circuit breaker, etc., so you’ll have to try it (incrementally) manually over time. Again, on auto, intially it will be at 15A and will drop down to around 12A or less instead.Overall the charger, it’s mount, etc. Worked fine. It has thick 10AWG, that is ideal for the higher 220VAC, 50A charging instead. What I didn’t like or couldn’t get to work. The charger app. I can’t seem to connect or add it. So, I used the tesla app to manage instead. The tesla locking adaptor didn’t seem to stay secure and it bumps into my model S charging port, so I quit trying to use it since it wouldn’t let me get a good connection to the car.Other than that. Well built and works great as a plug and play solution.

    initial impression is good

using with Pacifica, the cable is much heavier than the Chrysler oem, so hopefully that means it is sturdier as the oem was L1. When I swapped out cable it seems to indicate 5% faster charging even in L1 mode. Will be installing a 220v/50a plug later to test full capacity. when i initially plugged it in the system detected „an issue“, but reset it all and this went away.

Pleasantly surprised at the features for the price

I didn’t realize that when I bought this that it could integrate with my Smart Life home automation app. This allows me to update the firmware, check charge history, schedule charging, etc. While it would be nice if it were 40 or 48 AMP, given the price I paid I’m more than happy. Add to that the very long cable, which allow me to charge either of my EV’s (Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ford Mach-E) without having to move cars around. While I plan to leave this mounted in my garage, it’s also nice to see the full set of accessories along with a carrying case.

    Better than Tesla mobile charger

The media could not be loaded.

I am using this with my 2023 Model s. i have used it over 10 times on a 20A, 120V circuit and it workes very well , plug and play with the Model S. I like it better than the Tesla mobile charger for 1 its cheaper with no sacrifice. and 2 it has a read out screen that lets you know all the electrical info u need. (see my video). The only gripe is that the case should unzip all the way to allow it to be easier to roll up and put away when done. Comes with a wall mount and all adapters you need for any EV and any Tesla as well (J1774 to Nacs) It is capable of doing up to 240V, 32A connection as well with the native 15-50 connection if you have wired your charge location like that.

    Easy to use app

I was skeptical about apps since I’ve had mixed results with chinese products and apps in the past. But this works great.I haven’t tried 32a charging yet, but 8a and 16a work great, and limiting voltage is easy. I can even monitor voltage when not connected to the same wifi.

    Durable and it works!

I needed a charging cable for my Mercedes EQE as my Tesla OEM charging cable is a bit short for the space I park the EQE. Also, there is no scheduled charging feature on the EQE like my Tesla to take advantage of the off-peak charging hours. When I saw this cable with a time delay function at a reasonable price, I wanted to try it out. Well…it works! The cable looks substantial and sturdy so I expect that it would last too! Highly recommended unless you don’t like the color or the design of the holder.

    Great charger

Charger arrived on time and double packed. I was easily able to get it connected to my home network and the charger immediate updated its firmware. We have been using this to charge a Tesla Model Y until we have a Tesla wall charger installed by an electrician. It obviously takes a LONG time to top off the Tesla, but that is exactly what it’s for. We’ll likely bring this on trips in the included bag for the same type of trickle charge purpose. I’d recommend it and it costs less than the Tesla mobile charger and includes ability to charge both NACS and CCS.

Reasonable value for money- note 32A max will only provide ~7KW-

1st review- (will update) Connectivity options a plus- worked well on standard 125 Volt Seems somewhat portable as well for use on the road. Will update once unit is connected to higher voltage to test Level 2 charging stability.

Great Value, Great Product, Great Company

The mobile charger is the first thing that I purchased from this company just to test out the quality. I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and even more so by the company’s customer service who answered almost a dozen of my questions and supplies videos or visual screenshots of instructions to follow for setup. I immediately brought their wall charger and received the same level of customer service! I definitely recommend anyone to give this company a try over or expensive brands being sold. Feature set is rich as well. The only thing that I hope comes at future models is the ability to set a schedule for the unit to turn on and turn off during off peak hours.

Great Charger for Tesla and other EVs

This is a solid universal level 1,2 charger for all EVs including Tesla. I have not seen any other product that offers the full package including the Tesla adapter and level 1 power adapter cable and app connected at such an incredible price. Highly recommended..

I have been using this for the past month now, and it works as it should be. The long cable also helps to charge both of my EV in the garage.

Never pairs to the mobile app

Got this EV charger and tried setting it up with the mobile app. Gave up after spending 2 hours. The app is a generic app (not from Tera – it’s called SmartLife app) and pairing from the app to the device is next to impossible. There is no clear instruction sheet on this and I could not find anything useful online either. Very disappointed and will likely return the device. The device itself seems to work fine in plug-n-play mode, but if you want control via the app, you should look for some other brand.
