Awesome
I really like the performance and sturdiness and it’s not as loud as I thought and the portability is perfect

I’ve owned it for one year, everything is great!!
For me, this scooter is a very successful purchase. I own this scooter for a year and I am glad that I bought it, it has never failed me once and did not break down, my children also on it kotayutayutya and tears of happiness wipe. I want to note that it is not capricious, on the official website available all the parts, and it is easily repaired. When it was recommended to me by my friend, I told my friend thank you for the good advice. It is very convenient for truckers in the cab trak, the main thing is not to forget about the seats.

Hiboy electric scooter is awesome.
I purchased this Hiboy scooter for the 500w motor and extended distance riding. It does not disappoint at all. This scooter is well built and sturdy. Riding on bumpy road is a slight bit jarring with solid tires, but the scooter makes no noise or rattles. I weigh 200lbs and this thing moves me around good. My only concern would be for people living in an extremely hilly area, weighing over 200lbs. If you weigh over 200lbs you may want to look for another scooter with 750w motor or dual motors. I ride hills that are between 5-7% grade and it struggles a bit. I still move around 8-10 mph but it starts to slow down during extended hill riding. If you weigh under 180lbs this thing will be a rocket. Weight of scooter is noticeable but can be carried fairly easy. With all that said I would absolutely recommend this scooter or any scooter made by Hiboy. Hope this review helps.

Fantastic.
A really great scooter. The 500W motor really lays down some power that embarrasses 350W scooters. In the app I see it briefly peaking around 1200-1300W while hill climbing when the acceleration response is cranked up to maximum in the app. It does some really impressive hill climbing in this price tier. It’s clearly capable of going over 19mph on flat ground, it’s a darn shame that it can’t be raised to 25mph in the app. It is hard locked at 19 unless you get a gravity assist. The scooter feels really stable at 25mph too, even 30mph.Battery range estimate is only achievable in comfort mode (speed capped to 16) with very few stops and on flat ground. I think a more realistic distance is ~16 miles in normal city environments with some stops and some slight hills, while on Sport mode (19mph limit).I absolutely recommend this scooter over anything else I can find at this price point, and I would change my review to five stars if they solve a few minor manufacturing and quality issues:-Certain screws are very prone to working themselves loose, even with Loctite. I attribute this to the multi-directional mechanical stresses that happen during rides. I would much rather see the handlebars held on with a cotter pin, or a bolt with a nylon lock nut, instead of 4 small machine screws with Loctite on them.-The locking component that holds the handlebar stem in place is made of cast metal and can snap suddenly, leaving you with a floppy handlebar (you can still steer if this happens). As far as I can tell these parts are basically completely out of stock right now and the scooter is useless without it. Mine is holding up well but there’s no easy way to know its structural integrity until it fails. I would love to have a bolt-based alternative because I would like to have the peace of mind that the handlebar will not break if I have to get through some tricky terrain. However, this seems to be an issue that spans pretty much all folding electric scooters so I can’t really knock Hiboy for their decision. But I do want to order a spare in case it ever happens…-The way the power cable goes to the motor hub is wonky and I would much rather it be routed along the stem base instead of floating between the footboard and the front wheel. It works, but it rubs against the fender and there are pinch points for the cable inside the plastics that I am not a fan of.-The app needs to reconnect to the scooter every time you power cycle one of the devices, and it has an unnecessarily long UI scanning timer that you have to sit and wait to finish before you can rescan. This needs to be fixed because there’s no other way to see a percent readout of the battery. Also, it’s way too easy to reset the passcode for the scooter, making ‚locking‘ it basically useless. It should require manually disconnecting the battery, at a minimum, to have any semblance of security.Overall it is an awesome electric scooter and most of my complaints are minor.

m365, m365 Pro, Ninebot Max, and now a HiBoy Pro S2 Owner
I bought all my m365 scooters used off the Craig’s List and I learned how to be a scooter repairman. My m365 pro bearings wore out after roughly 2,080mi/3,347km. I replaced them with successfully with major pain. I did my research for a new scooter while waiting a week for a pair of high quality bearings to arrive. I like the look of the m365 pro, and the Hiboy Pro S2 seemed to have the best of what I valued most: durability and low maintenance. In fact, it looks like Hiboy said, „What can we do to make a better more durable scooter than Xiaomi?“ Then they did it.Initial thoughts after one ten-mile ride:==============================Unpacking was easy as any scooter. I tightened four hex screws and it was ready to go. I charged my battery to 100%. It took about 75-100 minutes. Sadly, the Hiboy Pro dashboard cannot power on while charging. You cannot see the battery percentage like you can on the Xiaomi m365 and Ninebot G30 models. You got to look at LED on the power brick to know if the scooter has finished charging. My Hiboy Pro S2 has two thumb throttles. It is more akin to driving a stick shift. You have more control. After about 10 minutes, I was completely comfortable. My Hiboy Pro S2 manual brake handle is on the right hand-side of the handlebar while the Xiaomi have their breaks on the left handbar.Acceleration is smooth. One difference is the scooter does not automatically slow down when you release the accelerator throttle. It took a few minutes getting used to it.One of the most annoying things about Xiaomi scooters is the taillight wire gets destroyed with time. I tried hot glue, but I lost the taillight on both my m365 and m365 pro. It looks like the Hiboy really was careful what part of the wire they exposed. I will update this review if my taillight wire decays with time.Yes, the scooter vibrates. I could care less. It’s annoying sometimes, but not any more or less than a skateboard or rollerskates. I am not sure the rear shocks help much, but they are not hurting anything. I would rather have a marginally rougher ride than dealing with flat tires on these electric scooters any day.Carrying the scooter is a little less abrasive on your fingers than Xiaomi scooters. It is still not perfect though. You cannot take your Hiboy Pro S2 up and down a bicycle trough easily.Cosmetically the scooter looks good except for one lighter gray fork and frame part near the front wheel and deck. It is strange because the paint of most of the scooter is a dark gray (see my pictures). It has a Hiboy sticker on the front easy to remove. The Hiboy logo is easy enough to cover up with electrical tape on your deck. I personally do not care for brand names on anything.Your Hiboy Pro S2 has compact handlebars. They are easy to replace and upgrade. These are the handlebars I love and recommend: https://www.amazon.com/MEETLOCKS-Comfort-Handlebar-Designed-Cycling/dp/B073PT748H/I'm glad Hiboy has entered the market. We need competition. It the only way the market will create affordable long-term durable scooters with parts relatively easy to replace.

The Hiboy S2 Pro is a Champ at a Budget Friendly Price
I love my Hiboy S2 Pro Scooter with attached seat. It is convenient and portable as a city cruiser. I have traveled with it in the trunk of my car. I take the scooter with me to explore various points of scenic interest locally and in other states. For the price, the S2 Pro Scooter is outstanding. The pros areo portable with seat at 48 poundso the seat folds down and remains attached when the stem is collapsedo the seat and its post is removable for security/anti-theft to take into a store, theater, etc.o the comfortable seat is stable when the seat screws are tightened and the black stabilizer on the post is locked into the locking mechanismo low maintenance due to 10 inch solid tireso the metal fenders are durable and prevent water from splashing up from the occasionally moist patho fast at 19 miles per hour (Still, I wear a helmet, gloves, glasses and knee pads)o the scooter range is adequate but quickly decreases if the scooter is operated at top speeds for the duration of a extended tripo has a phone app to control several settings on the scootero the stem hook locks into place with the holder on the back fendero the stem hook can double as a mount to carry a small shopping bag when the stem is uprighto the regenerative brake coupled with the necessary hand brake for disc braking is responsive and very effectiveo the cruise controlThe cons areo has an inability to navigate hills of 10 degrees or more if not at full power (I have had to push the scooter up hills a few times)o does not have a voltage reader; so, using the phone app is necessary to verify the amount of power remaining to complete a trip or while sightseeingo a storage bag for concealment is not available big enough to take the scooter (minus the seat) into a hotel, etc. for overnight chargingo the suspension is awful and inadequate because when riding on the 10 inch solid tires, I feel every path imperfection on asphalt roads, sidewalk pavement, or wooden bridgeso missing visible turn signals (I attached third-party turn signal lights to the back of my seat post and front of the scooter mid-stem to be visible to cars)o the front headlight is terrible to see the path at night (I bought a third-party headlight because like most scooters, the integrated light needs a higher lumen for brightness)o the scooter stem hook when it is upright does not close or is not deep enough (I have had small grocery bags fall off of the hook when I was riding; so, I carried the bags with their loops over my wrist or handlebars)o is not functional as a shopping vehicle because of there is no optional Hiboy basket (I have to carry a backpack)Despite the listed cons above, the Hiboy S2 Pro is a champ at a budget friendly price. I enjoy being closer to nature and riding slow enough to enjoy it. Plus, the seat is fantastic to prevent feet from tiring while standing up on the scooter after 30 or minutes of cruising. Well done Hiboy!

“Top notch in every way!”
This brand and this model of scooter is still the best I’ve witnessed for this price! While holding up to abuse of even a seriously bad wreck! Hitting a 3 foot tall cinder block wall doing 19mph while going UPHILL, and scooter only has cosmetic damage on the front post which holds the handlebars! I just mentioned uphill doing 19mph… that’s correct!! I’ve got to complement on the torque and power this scooter has! I’m approximately 165lbs and have 12lb backpack on my back and I never have gone less than 17mph, usually is still buried at 19mph going up EVERY HILL I’VE ENCOUNTERED IN MY NECK OF THE WOODS!!!! This scooter also is built with great quality of steel I have to admit that it’s not too heavy and also is not clumsy feeling in any way. This Highboy scooter is also faster than any of the rental scooters around! These S2Pro Highboys are at top of my list for my recommendations of scooters under $500!! These s2Pros VERY MUCH COMPARE TO SCOOTERS TWICE THE PRICE! 10 out of 5 recommendations!!

Constantly breaks down and warranty is worthless!
We bought this in December for an adult family member. He is a careful rider who used the scooter as his primary transportation around our small town. It has never been ridden in the rain (we’re in the middle of a drought). It worked great for a while and then, after a few months, we started running into problems. This company expects you to be able to perform repairs yourself. On their website are instructions for fixing the brakes and installing replacement parts. A serious problem is that the nuts & bolts loosen during regular use. So when the brakes went kaput, I figured out how to tighten the hardware and adjust the brakes.Subsequent mechanical problems required that I contact the manufacturer. The next problem was that the handlebars collapsed while riding, causing an injury accident. We discovered that the part that locks it in place had loosened and fallen off without our knowledge. When I contacted Hiboy for a replacement part, they eventually responded and we received the part- this was a simple repair on the outside of the vertical bar.Soon thereafter the electronics started malfunctioning. The scooter would surge forward, or even stop, without cause! Very dangerous! So it couldn’t be ridden for a while. When contacting Hiboy, they eventually responded and said that it needed a new controller.Eventually the part arrived, with no instructions for installation. Again, I had to contact Hiboy and wait for a response. They repeatedly tried to email instructional videos. However, video files are too large to be sent by email. After a series of emails back and forth, I suggested that they create a YouTube video and provide me with the link. It all worked out in the end, but this was NOT a simple installation (luckily we have some electrician tools in the garage). So the scooter worked fine for 12 days before we ran into more electrical problems. This is from the latest email I sent:“… yesterday while riding it, the brakes seized up for no reason, and the control panel turned off when supposed to be on, and it turned on when supposed to be off.“I sent this email THREE WEEKS AGO and I have not received a response from Hiboy! So, although the scooter worked great for a while, I wouldn’t have paid $500 for a scooter that only works for a few months.UPDATE: In December 2021 we received a replacement scooter. This was after a many month delay following complaints of electronic failure that rendered the scooter unsafe to ride. The December 2021 scooter has worked fine up to this point, BETTER than the other Hiboy scooters, (up until June 30, 2022- 6 months later) – mechanically and electronically. We have experienced no electronic failures. This is remarkable. At this point we do need some replacement screws for the part where the handlebars attach to the vertical bar. It is very wobbly and probably not safe to ride. Thank you for the replacement scooter, Hiboy. Please take quality control measures on the mechanical and electronic parts. Thank you.

Good scooter with some drawbacks
The media could not be loaded.
I bought the scooter in June 2022 and rode it over 1.5 years for about 343 miles. If I could give different stars for different categories I would rate:Durability 2 of 5: Two negative things: 1. The front shaft gets loose and has play over time and you need to reset it every so often. 2. The tail suspension wears in my opinion way too fast and has a lot of play after a while. Considering the miles I rode on standard terrain (common streets and walkways) commuting to and from work, that should not happen yet. BTW: I am 83kg/183 pound plus a small backpack of 3.2kg/7 pound. “Good” thing is that Hiboy reacts very fast and ships the right parts/tools for a small price (33 USD) to my address and after I replaced them, the scooter is like new (should I have ordered a second set? 😉).Riding Experience 3.5 of 5: The scooter has one issue in comparison to some others and that is that small impacts, like bumps you find in any street or footpath, are transmitted to the handlebars and depending on their strength it feels like an electric shock and you want to let go like a reflex which is not such a good idea. Once you get used to it you will be able to handle that.Price 4.5 of 5Power 5 of 5Batterie 4.5 of 5Hiboy Service 5 of 5 That is what service is supposed to be > EXELLENT!!! – but the best service is the service one does not need in the first place.

A great product. Incredible support. Extremely responsive and knowledgeable.
We bought our first scooter for our son as a Christmas present last year. I wasn’t familiar with the scooters or the brand and was shocked that my wife would buy our son a gift like this without discussing it first with me. I fully expected that there would be issues with assembly and with the scooter even working. Boy was I wrong. I had estimated a minimum of an hour for assembly. It took me maybe 5-7 min. My son was so excited on Christmas morning but I was then worried about how long it would last before we had problems. Almost 1 year later my son came to me telling me that the scooter had an error code and wouldn’t work. I fully expected that the scooter had run its course and would become a boat anchor. I reached out to support and surprisingly got an almost immediate response. Support was able to identify my issue and send me a replacement AND it was still under warranty. They additionally sent me video instructions on how to replace the handlebar which is where the issue was. The replacement was easy to do following the video instructions but after replacing the handlebar, the scooter still didn’t work. I followed up with support again and immediately got a response with what the issue was. I did have to replace the battery and was again able to easily install the new battery using the video instructions that were sent to me. The scooter is now working perfectly again!! My son and several (ten or more) of his friends all have these scooters and ride around the neighborhood like hells angels. They are extremely durable and the kids love them! It’s given him/them so much freedom and independence. and has been a huge help for us so we don’t have to drive them everywhere. The scooters are very dependable also and have lights and even a bell for safety. I’m not usually one to write reviews but these guys have been great and so I felt compelled to do so. Just make sure your kiddos wear helmets. They are fast and can be dangerous if they aren’t being safe. Having said that, we also just bought one for our 11-year-old daughter who was always wanting to take her brothers.

Honestly this is an impressive unit
I have bought this to use in Miami as traffic is absurd, this unit makes traveling significantly easier and quicker than a car. I have put well over 100 miles on my scooter so far and here is my honest review. No I have not been paid to write this by the company. I spent hours on Reddit and researching Amazon to find this unit.Pros:- Light weight – 30 pounds- No app needed to operate- Automatic cruise control – Definitely a bonus as on long rides it is helpful- Brakes are solid and they certainly stop you- The lights are bright and you certainly will not be missed at night- I’m 240 pounds and this unit gets me moving 20 mph easily****************- Battery life is great- Sturdy platform – I had to ride off curbs with no fear of breaking- Miami gets a good amount of rain – this unit has had no problem going through puddles and soaked streets- Can go up steep hills (prone to overheat quickly though)Cons:- Motor is prone to overheat in the Miami weather- Regenerative braking over heats the motor quickly- Rear disc brakes will lock up quickly if you’re not careful- Pick up is kind of slow but mind you I am 240 pounds- Stock grips are meh- Rough ride! No suspension = your skull will be rattled, and you feel bumps like crazyMy honest review is a 7.9/10. I love my unit and pass bicyclists with ease. It is a sleek scooter and folds up nicely. If you are looking for a budget scooter, purchase this unit. You will NOT regret it.

You can’t be over 200lbs
I went from the ever cross EV08e to this, and I loved it. The bigger, wider tires give you a lot of stability over small bumps and separations in the sidewalks. At times I can even write it with one hand. Build quality is incredible, I’ve abused it a fair amount in the time I’ve had it and honestly I love this thing. But there are a few drawbacks. Like my title says you can’t be over 200 pounds. I am about 6 foot and 215lbs. I commute 2.6 miles…1.3 miles each way on full throttle 85% of the time, sport mode and on flat surfaces. It will hit the advertised 18-19 mph which is impressive but I get like 7-8 miles max. I’d expect at least 10-12 which is still less than half of the advertised range on these settings but not happening. Luckily I can charge it while at work so don’t suffer too much. On eco mode I reach 13-15mph and get about 14 miles. Overall as a beginner scooter this is a wonderful product. The range is a little iffy as weight is a huge factor but ask for speed, build quality, safety, and stability this is the one I’d recommend. For those interested in the seat luckily, I purchase that as well. Cool addition but honestly it’s meant for long rides not for commuting. I’ve caught myself just coasting around on it when I’m on trails and other fairly flat surfaces but for sidewalks and other terrains you would come across going to work it’s not the best. Again weight and size maybe a factor as I’m 6 foot and 215 lbs so I have a rather large bottom so someone smaller may find it more pleasant. As someone who’s done about two months of research and watch countless videos, I could see the high boys pretty good when it comes to bang for buck. I hope this review helps you and I hope you enjoy your HiBoy.Will update if anything happens!

Good Scooter For The Money
So I’ve had this scooter now for almost two weeks so these are my initial impressions.1. It’s well made. It feels very solid and study and easily supports my 225 lbs.2. The app is just so so. The app is pretty basic. Also, I’ve had several problems with it staying connected via bluetooth ( dont know if that has to do with my phone or not) I would like to see an upgrade with some mapping features or integration.3. The tires are great. The solid tires are very confidence inspiring. They are very grippy and have the same feel as an inner tube tire. On my first ride I got a construction staple in my front tire which i didnt notice until I got home. I just pulled it out with some pliers and kept it moving. A+4. The bell is awesome.5. The handlebars are small. If you want to mount pretty much anything you’re going to need a handlebar extension. I bought one to be able to mount my phone and a horn.6. The breaks work well. The rear disk break is pretty much all you need but the front regenerative break does a good job too. In conjunction they work well.7. I’m suspect about the advertised range. Again I weigh 225 so keep that in mind but I rode it about 1 1/2 miles after a full charge and the battery was down to 90% so I doubt I’ll get the advertised 25 mile range. I’m going to do a full range test soon.8. The rear shock. For me this doesn’t do much. When you hit a bump you hit with the front tire first so that shock goes through the handlebars. Maybe if you were using the seat it would be helpful.9. The lock feature only works when the scooter is on. I like that they put an anti theft feature which „locks“ the front tire, but you have to leave the scooter on in order for it to work. So if you were going into a store for a while you are using battery (although not much)10. The seat hole. There is a hole in the deck for attaching the seat if you choose to. However, since I dont plan on getting a seat this hole works well for putting a chain through to secure your scooter to a pole (or something) when you’re out and about. There really is no other way to physically secure the scooter. I would have liked to see a dedicated security point.Final thoughts: I really like this scooter. It’s my first one and Im looking forward to seeing how it holds up. Especially the battery life and range capability.

Very good ride with a very good ride.
Buy this one. I believe that I may have read every review for every e scooter Amazon sells. I made an educated guess and purchased this hiboy s2pro. I am very happy. I am at this scooters weight limit and it moves me with no problem. 13 mph in long distance mode. 19 mph in sport mode. I find sport mode good for going up hills. The large foot board is excellent for my mens size 13 feet. This scooter’s 10 inch solid tires are good for cracks, rocks, drain covers, glass, manhole covers, acorns, you’ll learn to bend your knees a little. The ride is perfectly fine no need for troublesome air tires. Lighting is excellent in the sense that people can see you at night. Headlight works fine but at 19 mph a big pothole at night might be a problem if you look away from the spotlight on the road. Just being honest. I hope you enjoy yours a much as I enjoy mine for work and fun.

No support for issues
We are having issues with a scooter we purchased this past December. There is no way to contact Hiboy. The phone numbers that they give do not work and no one e mails back. This seems to be an issue with most scooter companies from the research I have done. Being a higher ticket purchase, this is a huge problem. They want your money and then leave you with the issues.

Good scooter for the price, excellent customer support
I used this scooter to commute to and from work for a few months. After about 3 months the scooter stopped charging. I emailed customer support and they sent me a new battery. I replaced it and it still didn’t work. then they sent me a new charging cable and new handlebars. the new handlebars ended up fixing the issue. It’s nice to know that if something breaks they will probably be able to help you. The scooter can get me up relatively steep hills and goes decently fast.My only complaint is that I wish the tires had a little more tread since I live in a rainy area. But even on wet days the scooter still works, you just have to be extra careful.

Got Stolen
I used it for only 1.5 months and it was stolen. The only problem of the product itself is that it speeds up too fast. I don’t know what the app is for. Anyone can turn it on and go use it. It needs a passcode only when you need to make some changes on settings in the app. And only when you turn the scooter on you can connect it to your phone. I hope there could be some updates, like fingerprint on the scooter so no other one can use it or longer connection to phones.

Reliable
I’ve taken this back and forth 8 miles/ day for months worth of going to work and back and it has been good performance for the price. Its top speed is 19 mph, if you are going downhill and it hits 20 mph the brakes automatically kick in (I wish they didn’t, it’s a waste of power). IMPORTANT: there is performance mode and energy efficient mode. In performance mode you will get MAYBE 8 miles before it dies, and the last mile will be a significant speed reduction. Takes a few hours to fully charge. AT LEAST 4 hours if it’s near dead or dead. After months of riding the main control grip for power is kind of sticky, and so are the brakes; it will just lightly auto-brake sometimes and reduce my speed. By flicking the brake a few times it’ll stop sticking. I feel like I’ve used it enough to get my money out of it before that started happening. Overall I am happy with the purchase, I have used it many times in thirty degree weather and it is still holding together and running fine. I’m happy with it for the price of $450 (I got it during lightning deals). I wish the battery life was longer at higher speeds. No traction on ice/snow/mud of course which is fine for what it is. I would buy this brand again. I don’t have the seat but there is a detachable seat option available. I live in the country and it also handles dirt roads fine as long as they are not very wet. It does road hills fine too. PERFECT for inner city travel. And passable for other areas. It might be worth it to spend a little more for longer battery life and slightly higher top speed but this was a great scooter for my 1st one I’m glad I bought it.

An excellent scooter-BUY THIS ONE!
I have had an e-bike for 8 years now and it finally died. I used it 90% of the time just to and from work. It’s just over a mile each way. I am a VERY YOUNG 65 year old male and weigh 180 with minor heart & health issues so my days of long distance bike riding are long gone, but I like the freedom of a scooter/bike. I checked all various models and choose this one. Keep checking those lightning deals. The price right now as I’m typing this is $479. I got it for $399! Now, I was nervous about riding a scooter as I have the balance of a drunk toddler just learning how to walk. I only felt nervous when going the max speed downhill and when the winds hit me from the side. It was then that I wisely bought the seat from HiBoy direct (again-it was a special sale and cheaper than Amazon) The seat is not bad at all and there is some „spring“ to it when hitting a bump, so it is a relaxing ride. The hard tires should be required for all scooters. I have driven through puddles, glass & gravel, over sticks, small fissures in the street, etc and never had to worry about a flat tire! It can be a bit bouncy but you get used to it. I can ride it standing up with the seat still attached too. The seat also folds down and is easily removeable. The weight makes it feel firm and well constructed. I even drove over a curb the other day (praying that I would make it out alive…..spoiler alert- I did!) The cruise control beeps on about 5 seconds into it and it a breeze to use. I prefer the red button power brake in lieu of the hand break. Going up that damn hill that I have to ride up to go home from work was easy too. I’m not about to get into all the technical jargon because I have no clue what that stuff is. But I will say that I recommend this scooter to anyone. The assemble was easy (I can’t even assemble a P&J sandwich without screwing something up) and if it can cart around my fat behind, it will work for anyone. (p.s. My hubby used it once and he weighs 280 6’2″ and had no problem!)

Solid
This is my first scooter, so I don’t have much to compare it with, but it is heavy and well built. I like the solid tires for never getting a flat tire. The pick up speed from zero to 19 mpg seems fast to me, and I can imagine it could go faster if I dare mess with the speed limiter. 19 is fast enough for Key West, and the bell works to warn people walking in front of me. The battery life is amazing, and I’ve only dropped it by one bar out of five. The bluetooth took a bit to figure out, but once connected my android phone and the scooter have no problem connecting. I like the option for instant throttle from stop because I broke my hip (mending), and I can’t push it first to get going. The lights are cool. Strong, HD scooter. I got a seat which is also well built.

I’m extremely happy with my purchase! 👍
My grown Son bought one through Amazon, I was so impressed I bought one too (I bought mine directly through Hiboy. Shipping took an extra day but they don’t charge taxes, just a $17.98 International sales fee, so I saved like $50 😁)I live 11.3 miles from my job and I can make it there and back on a full charge. I did a lot of research before I bought this and learned that most scooters don’t go as far as advertised but this one gets damn close! I’m not a little tiny girl either, I stand 5′ 8″ and weigh 170 lbs. However, I did go for the optional seat and I think that makes a difference, I seem to go just a bit faster when I’m sitting and I think it makes less wind resistance so that might be a factor in battery life. (But just a smidge)And as awesome as the battery life is, what REALLY sold me was the e brake and solid tires!! I won’t lie, it’s a ROUGH ride. ( I DO NOT suggest this for county or rural areas. It’d be absolutely impossible on a dirt or gravel road.) I happen to live in Las Vegas and it is absolutely amazing in an urban (paved road) setting!! If not for the solid tires, I’d have been stuck on the side of the road, late for work, several times already! I have ran over sharp rocks, broken glass, random metal scraps, nails and/or screws, and I just keep cruising. My Son bought an Evercross and had SOOOO many problems with the tires and disk breaks. (No offense to Evercross, he still got 900+ miles out of it and the engine and battery are still good) These were problems I didn’t want to deal with and so I wasn’t interested in electric scooters…then he bought an S 2 pro with the e brake ❤️. It doesn’t need to be constantly adjusted AND it feeds back in to the battery!!! I know this has both, but honestly, I don’t even use the disk brakes unless I’m already stopped and just don’t want it to roll. If you are just doing research at this point I can’t stress this enough THE E BRAKE IS AWESOME AND MAINTENANCE FREE!!! Disk brakes are a pain in the butt!!!! I debated between this and the Titan but the e brake was the tie breaker. As far as the lights, I feel like the red underlighting makes you visible to traffic and the headlight is plenty bright but it points about 5 feet+++ ahead of you. I added a cheap flashlight to the bottom of the handlebar stem to light the ground in front of the tire. Also, the lights don’t seem to suck much juice. I get the same milage with the lights on or off, so you won’t have to choose between safety and milage.Overall, I’m EXTREMELY HAPPY with my purchase, it’s a BLAST to ride, easy to control, solid construction except the handlebars (easy fix) ((the welds are beautiful on the body!!))Oh! I almost forgot. It’s simple to put together, just a few screws and they include all the wrenches you will need. But you will have to pull the black wire out a bit from the bottom so the handlebars fit. DO NOT try to jam it in place on top of the wire. This part will make sense when you put it together 😁

what exactly did I receive?
tldr; the sticker doesn’t have the manufacturing date, the wheels are smaller than advertised and range is shorter. So I don’t know if this was a refurbished unit or even a S2 Pro at all. I’m writing this to prevent people from falling/serious injuries.Delivery: I received the package almost fine but it looks like someone tried to take a peak inside of the box. weird but okay, I guess.Assembly: There wasn’t much steps to assemble as in every scooter but there were 2 problems. I had to tuck the flimsy looking connection cable in a tight space inside the stem. I actually sent an email to their support if I’m doing it right, more on this later. Second problem is bigger and it affects the whole riding experience. Screw holes in the stem and the handle don’t align perfectly. That would cause screws to be underdriven or driven crooked, which would lead handle to shake/move on the ride, stressing your wrists, not to mention that it’s dangerous.Use: I charged it to full before my first and only ride. The ride was as expected except 1 thing. The drain felt too fast and I almost completely emptied it in 45mins-1hr. There aren’t really even any elevation change where I live and I weigh 175 so there wasn’t too much load on the motor, afaik. Besides that it was bumpy as expected and handle shake was real, but I didn’t investigate it further.Realization: So, when I got home puzzled by my rather short ride, I started checking this scooter if I forgot anything, or anything got stuck. Then I saw the sticker w/o any manufacturing date. That was sus, as pre 2022 manufactured models have a notorious problem of breaking in half at the downtube – deck connection spot. And I imagine it’d be from serious to fatal consequences if that happens when you’re going fast. They supposedly corrected this issue on newer models by using a thicker/stronger tube, but who knows…Then I remembered some people complaining about wheel size and checking it, they came a bit smaller around 8″ – 8″ rather than the advertised 10″. This might have also contributed to the bumpy ride. I stopped at this point and started the return process.Return: It was a breeze with Amazon handling everything for me. And that was smoothest part of this all.Support: Remember I asked their US SUPPORT about what to do about it? Their working hours are „UTC +8:00 zone 9:00 – 17:30 from Monday to Friday“ . So I waited (yes, I don’t rush these stuff) and after two days, they sent me a link containing 2x 3mins handlebar assembly videos of another model which doesn’t even show what I’m asking (I sent them the first photo attached here). So it was an interesting experience to say the leastSummary: I knew some of the problems this model have but their attractive price and promises of solutions had me buying it. I really don’t like to write reviews let alone negative ones but my lost time, my frustration and the dangers this pose drove me to get the word out.

3 1/2 years later
I wanted to give a true review on this project. So after using this scooter for over 3 years I will say it is worth the price. I am 220 lbs and the scooter has no problem moving me around town . 1 full charge I traveled 28 miles from speeds ranging from 15-19 mph. To charge the scooter it took me around 5 hours. It is a very durable scooter. I ride off side walk curbs withe ease. On uphills it will struggle a little. The wheels are still in good standings. In the night, the front light gives you visibility and on the bottom of the scooter it illuminates with a Red light. Storing it away is easy, you can park it with a kick stand or you can fold it in half and put it away. It does have some weight to it, so you will have to put some muscle into it when lifting it. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. I would recommend this scooter.

Poor battery life
Purchased this scooter in December 2022. First, the charger stopped working after 7-8 months. Second, the battery died after about 13 months of use. Followed the manufacturer recommendations for charging. Now the battery has to be replaced that will cost $150+. Disappointed that the batterystopped working after such a short period of time.UPDATE:Within 3 days of my review, HIBOY customer service/support reached to me asking for more details about the problem, how could they help and if they could contact me directly. I have to say I was pleased that they were willing to assist me even though I was outside of the warranty period. I told them the issue and they suggested that I try a few troubleshooting suggestions. It didn’t work. They diagnosed the problem was the battery and said that they would like to ship me a new battey pending approval from the persons in charge . Well, I got a new battery! They provided me with a you tube video on how to install. (I found one video helpful. The video on installing could use a little more information but I was able to get it done ). We are back enjoying the HIBOY electric scooter again. The customer service I received is definitely 5 star! The scooter is a 4.6 star rating! I would recommend. And the next time they are on sale, I will be purchasing a second one for me. (My son has taken over the first one ).

Great for short commutes for light, medium, and even heavier riders.
I had this scooter for nearly a month and I must say for everything in this price point hands down five stars. However, when looking at what’s available in the price point above there are many better options out there. The main issue is this scooter had some unique features that some might have issues with. If it’s right for you, for the price you can’t beat it. So who is this scooter right for?If your commute is within 8 miles one way MAX and you’re under 225lbs and you live somewhere realitvely flat this will work perfectly. For a scooter with solid tires, it handles really well on wet pavement. There is some water and dust proofing however like any scooter it’s not protected against water damage. I would avoid taming it out in the rain and avoid puddles is possible. However, this scoot we has far more water proofing on it that a majority of scooters out there. Especially for the price. The scooter is rated for up to 265lbs riders but with a single motor that’s 350W if you are at the max weight, you’ll have issues going up inclines, even really small inclines. Also the top speed is reduced to 16MPH. 18MPH if you have a really long completely flat, dry, and perfect weather conditions. Which is impressive! The scooter markets 19MPH. I only saw 14 MPH up inclines, but after 50% battery it will struggle on inclines for heavy riders. I would say for shorter commutes for heavier riders this is fine but anything over 3-4 miles on way (round trip 6-8) you will want either dual 500W Motors or a single 800W motor. I use a dual 1000W motor and have zero issues and I weigh 255. The scooter is use advertises a top speed of 40MPH and most users get 37MPH. I get 34MPH. Great value in the Hiboy S2 Pro when you get 18MPH out kf 19MPh, especially when a scooter over 2k getting 6MPH less then advertised! My main issue is the FST battery isn’t reliable. Some rides at 50% the scooter slows down to 8MPH on flat, dry pavement. Unfortunately, I had to return mine because of this issue. As a heavier rider and someone who can’t drive and relies on this scooter daily to get to medical appointments I needed something more reliable. It’s fantastic value for a 500 USD scooter. Honestly for a commuter scooter there is no better value out there. The build quality is great. The ride is relatively smooth for a solid tire. There’s water proofing. The weight limit is higher than most. It’s top speed and max distance is better than others in this price point. There’s plenty of room on the deck. Scooter looks great. Folds and unfolds very easily. Accessories fit onto the scooter very easily. Anything you can get for a bike will work for this. The display is bright even to see in the day under direct sunlight. All of the battery issues are completely justified at the price.Something has to give when your scooter is priced at 500 USD. My best guess is in order to drop the price, a Chinese battery was used. I also want to point out that I’d you are under 225 the incline at 50% or less battery shouldn’t be as big of an issue. At most the scooter will slow down to 12MPH. It will maintain 16MPH with flat and ideal conditions. In short, Great commuter scooter for short and medium distance rides for riders between 220-250lbs. Expect there to be small variances in speed and max ride distance when traveling anywhere that will take the scooter under 50% charge due to the FST battery. For riders under 220lbs (vast majority of scooter riders). Scooter max distance will be closer to 18 miles and max speed 18MPH. If your commute is less than 8 miles one way you will be absolutely fine on a single charge! Absolutely best value for the price point. The FST battery may have some long term issues. However, HiBoy has fantastic support for replacement parts. A new battery runs 150 USD and is replaceable. If you can find an LG or Samsung battery to replace, I would consider this when it comes time to replace the batteryFor both heavy and light riders. Solid tires means no flats but it also means a bumpy ride! This ride is better than other solid tires scooters, but in my opinion this is partially achieved by the softer tire used. In less than 30 days of going 50 miles a week. (Maybe a total of 100-120 miles) the tires were already very worn down. The tires are replaceable for a realitively low price but it’s something to consider.

Great way for any city dweller to get around.
Just had this scooter a few days and I’m happy I purchased this. I live in a small mountain town in NC. I don’t drive and use the Hiboy S2 pro for commuting to work, running errands, and just cruising around sight seeing. I’m 6’2”, 170, scooter carries me up some very steep hills here in Asheville. Very mountainous region and I’m cruising just fine at 10mph with a small bag hanging from the grocery bag clip that’s built in.I used it to run laundry. Made it to the laundromat in less than 8 minutes in a mile and a half.Carrying 25 lbs of laundry on my back still pulled up a very steep hill at 7/8 mph.Doesn’t feel wobbly or scary going down hill. Hit the speedo to read 25 the other night flying down a hill. The Hiboy S2 pro app works great. Can park and lock the scooter, turn the lights on or off, read exact battery life, and control speed and cruise control. The solid tires are a great thing to have for my peace of mind and keeping maintaining the scooter low, but can make for a bit of a shaky ride. Really just depends where you drive it. Even my 12 speed bike with air tires pushing 90 lbs of air still pass road vibration through. The rear suspension makes a huge difference in the amount of shaking I have felt from other scooters I have tried in the past.Locking mechanism clicks snug in place. I feel confident riding it, even when things get a little bumpy. I have no fear it will collapse.Having dual electric brakes and disk brakes are a huge plus. Living in a place where the roads are very steep, being able to stop with confidence is important. From 20-25 mph to a full stop, I can do in 3-4 seconds in 20 or so.That’s at my weight of 170.Riding at night is fun. Very comfortable knowing people on the road can see me. The rear tail light is very bright. Blinks when brakes are applied. The head lamp projects outward at least 30 ft. The underglow LED lights look awesome first of all and also provide a way for people to clearly see me at night when it’s just a side profile of me.Very fun scooter. It charges quick 3-4 hours and you’re able to ride. With the kind of range this thing gets that kind of charge time can be done at night while sleeping.Overall this is a great purchase. It’s an awesome way to get around, in the street and sidewalks, getting around traffic in a city is such a relief.

Solid well built scooter
Personally, I love this scooter. It is built much better than other entry-level scooters especially because of the rear suspension most scooters at this price range don’t particularly have. The first thing you notice out of the box is how well they have shipped it and just overall how easy they make assembling it. The first thing you notice and that I really love about this scooter is the weight distribution, picking up and moving this scooter is quick and easy with a really simple and lock tight folding mechanism. The fact that the battery sits on the base is what allows for this and it’s great, one thing most electric scooter companies don’t do is have the charging port sit on the top of the stem which for me makes it very easy to charge. Another thing that is great is the big solid tires that come with this scooter, they allow for an easy ride where you don’t have to worry about a flat tire and are big enough to take the worry of hitting potholes easier to subside. The app is also a great thing other scooters might not have, which is amazing because of all of the different settings and information it tells you overall. Personally, I don’t think you could find a better-built electric scooter at this price range, the suspension feels really nice whilst riding the scooter, and is probably felt even better with a seat attached. The frame is another thing I would like to mention, the handlebars are wider than my other scooter and feel better to ride with as it allows for more instability, the back fender being tight and reinforced my metal is also something I love a lot, the other scooter I had it would wobble and make noise, and honestly, I thought after a while it would have cracked and or even snapped off in a way. There is a lot of pros without many cons, I honestly can’t find a part of this scooter I personally don’t like, one thing some people were saying was how the cord for the hand-disc brake comes from out of the right side of the handlebars. This annoys people due to the fact that they put on accessories for riding around on the handlebars (Extra headlight, Phone Holder, etc). Everything aside, for a scooter at this price range I would give it my all and say that it is a 10/10, 5-star review for the scooter, I have had absolutely no issues with the scooter, and every time I ride it I only feel inclined to ride it more and more.

BEWARE – DANGEROUS!!! Metal frame snapped. UPDATE- Company replaced with a new scooter
My son was riding this scooter down the street when the metal bar leading to the handle snapped and broke. He almost fell and if he did, he could’ve been really hurt. I’m not sure how a metal bar just snaps but I’d say it’s definitely a manufacturing flaw. My son isn’t big (4’11/110lbs) or reckless. There’s no fixing this and I paid over $400 for it.UPDATE- I reached out to the company and explained what happened. They verified my purchase and quickly sent a new scooter. They requested back the broken scooter for the engineers to inspect. I received the new scooter and my son was happy. Overall, the company made it right and was pleasant to deal with. but after reading other reviews of this happening, it still makes me feel nervous that it could snap again. Hopefully, it’s was just a bad batch of scooters but the thought of riding at 17 mph and it snapping without reason is unsettling.

My opinion after 3 months of riding
I went back of forth between this and the Segway G30 max because I wasn’t sure how much I’d use it. Specs are aligned with Segway, reasonable pricing and the fact it had decent enough reviews led me to purchase this g2 pro.I’ve probably ridden over 100 miles so far and haven’t had any issues. It does lose a MPH when the lights are on and holds steady at 18mph when you’re in the 30% battery life range. I find myself using it all the time and have a blast on it. I live in a cul-de-sac neighborhood so I take cruises around multiple times a day to get out of the house (work remotely). I also bring my son to the bus stop on it – he loves going to school now because of the ride.I’m 6’ 215lbs and with my son on it, pushing 265. Holds up fine so far. When I’m on it, it does consistently go 19mph. There’s a decent incline in my neighborhood and it still powers up that at 10MPH. I only ride it in sport mode and tested out the mileage. I went a little more than 10 miles on a charge.I bring it on trips and cruise around different towns. Very convenient to travel with. For a less expensive, reliable scooter, you can’t go wrong with this one!

Seems Promising
This is my initial just out of the box review.Pros:The scooter looks sleek. It seems well built and once I get a better hang of all the features and used to the folding mechanism, it should be a fun ride. The bell is loud and the screen looks like it will give a lot of information.Cons:No matter how hard I tried, I could not get all 4 screws to screw in all the way for assembly when connecting the stem. For a $500+ product, that’s not a great sign, even if the stem feels tightly connected otherwise. Also, none of the wrenches they supplied actually work with the screws, so make sure to have your own screwdriver. This thing is heavy. 36 pounds may not seem like a lot, but I can’t imagine lugging this around constantly. I may invest in a scooter bag or something similar.I’ll update once it has finished charging and I go for my first ride. I am really excited to try this scooter out!Update 1: Fixed the screw issue, but should not have had that issue to begin with for something this pricey. App seems decent and I was able to update the firmware easily. Looks like it will be good for small adjustments, but not something I will use all the time.Update 2: Just took this bad boy around the streets of DC. I probably went around 13-14 miles and still had 40% battery life, so if I can average around 20 miles per charge, I’ll be happy. Would it be a better scooter with pneumatic tires? Yes. Are the solid tires a dealbreaker? Absolutely not. You won’t have the smoothest ride, but certainly not as bad as some people have said. The thing zips, even at 15mph. You will definitely need to check the screws every once in awhile to make sure they’re tight, but I think that’s just typical maintenance. I was able to get up steep hills pretty well, but the motor was definitely pushed to its max. Overall, if today is any indication of what my time with this scooter will be, I am and will continue to be very happy with this purchase. Also, the customer service seems friendly so far, especially when you leave reviews about the scooters.

Great scooter for getting around. A little bulky/heavy to break it down to carry inside.
Got this scooter for my son to have around the neighborhood. It gets up to a good speed and battery lasts well. I even use it to go to the mailbox now and enjoy riding it. The related app is cool in terms of being able to lock it when it’s parked away from the garage and unlocking higher speed (at least as reported by my son). While it does break down so you could carry inside, it’s a little bulky/heavy for carrying any distance. But, that’s not really why I got it, so not a big deal. The wires are also a little much, though I assume the extra length is so the turning is not restricted … I’m just concerned about them catching and pulling further or breaking.Overall, pretty pleased with results after the investigation into options originally and so am happy with the „black Friday“ deal/cost as well as the quality for what I got in return!

Great e-scooter, especially for the price. But it’s not perfect.
After purchasing a Hiboy S2 e-scooter in 2018, I decided to by another Hiboy, this time the Hiboy S2 Pro. The style of the two e-scooters are identical, except the S2 Pro is heavier (due to the larger battery I believe), and has slightly larger wheels. The S2 Pro is an improved e-scooter, when compared to my S2 from a few years ago. The first thing I noticed is the mileage, as it is much improved. I believe the advertised 25 miles per charge is doable on this scooter. Also, the top speed of my S2 Pro right out the box, is 19-20 mph. This can be done without the need to use the Hiboy app, which wasn’t the case for the original S2, which would have topped out at about 15 mph if the Hiboy app wasn’t used. The one negative on the S2 Pro, is the lack of suspension. While the S2 Pro rides very smoothly on flat surfaces, the ride can get very bumpy on uneven roads. This is obviously not a game changer for many people, as not everyone will encounter bumpy roads during their commute. But it would have nice to see Hiboy add front suspension to the S2 Pro, instead of using a frame that is 95% identical to the original Hiboy from a few years ago.One other VERY annoying issue, is adjusting the brake caliper once you take the Hiboy straight out the box (when new) so that you don’t hear brake squeak as the wheels move. I have tried numerous attempts to adjust the caliper so that the disc spins without rubbing on the brake pads. One positive on the brakes, is the addition of an electronic brake. I find myself using it more than the mechanical brake, as it is strong, and easier for me to press.Overall, I’m very impressed with the Hiboy S2, and I highly recommend it.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT
Initially, I bought the Hiboy S2 pro and LOVED IT. It exceeded my expectations! After about two months, it got stolen from my corporate office (it was locked up – I live 0.5 miles away from work and commuted on it to work downtown). Then I decided I was going to buy a GoTrax just because it was less expensive. I received the GoTrax scooter and it was absolutely awful. The brakes hardly worked and did not ride nearly as well. I sent it back after a few days. I then purchased a Hiboy S2 Plus and love this as well. HiBoy is the best scooter brand in my opinion and has served me well.

Very convenient to have when getting around Campus
My University Campus is very big. It takes me 15 minutes to go from my class to the parking lot. So I decided to invest in a scooter for my birthday. Best decision I made! The scooter arrived in under a week and came fully charged. You had to assemble the handles to the rest of the body but there was no trouble at all. I folded the scooter and took it to school via car. For reference to the length, it fits perfectly in the trunk of my Santa Fe. There is no hassle in folding and unfolding the scooter. Top speeds are 16 mph going uphill, 20 mph downhill, and 19 mph on level pavement. (On sport mode) Due to its metal structure, it is a bit heavy, but after a while, you get used to it. Battery life is amazing. I plug it in before bed and use it throughout the day. I use it to get around from 7:45 am through 6:15 pm and the scooter will still have around 27% and I like to use it on sport mode. I like to use the cruise control feature as I don’t have to hold the lever down to accelerate. Keep in mind that you have to use the Hiboy app to use this feature. I avoid taking my scooter to school on rainy days as I don’t want a risk anything from happening. The lights around the scooter work well and look really cool at night. In early December, there were some issues with the throttle where it was loose and the max speed became 16 mph (on sport mode) and the front wheel would still accelerate even though there was no pressure on the throttle. I contacted Hiboy support about this and they were quick to respond and very helpful. After sending them a few pictures and videos of my problem, they sent me a new replacement part through the mail. It took two weeks to arrive; however, I didn’t mind as I was on winter break anyways. Throughout the whole process, they were very professional and polite. Replacing the broken part was quick and easy.I am very happy with my purchase and I definitely believe that it was worth the money.

Good scooters
I bought 2 of these. The wife and myself have ridden all over town. Never had an issue with battery life. After installing the ap you can change the cruise speed to 30 (which it’s probably not 30.) It has plenty of speed and acceleration. It does have a slightly rough ride with potholes and impacting raised concrete curbs but it’s negligible. The grown-ups and kids all love it.Would buy again

Just a fantastic experience
We recently moved to a more city environment so got this scooter to commute as the wife and I downsized to one car. It’s been several weeks and I’ve probably gone already 50 miles on this thing. I charge it about every 3 days which seems reasonable. Speeds reach to about 19 mph for me. I’ve never owned an electric scooter, but it felt pretty easy to get used to. Several reviews commented about the shakiness over rougher terrain. That is true–but I don’t know how it’s possible to mitigate that at this price point. I usually ride on the road rather than the side walk. Doesn’t bother me as the speed is akin to a road bicycle. As a former avid cyclist, I did upgrade tail and headlights to feel more safe as a daily commuter, but I also don’t feel like the current lighting is poor for say kids riding in the neighborhood. I have no problems going up hills. I am however only 5’7 175. I would definitely buy again–have this sneaking suspicion this will be a future purchase for the wife and kids…

Great scooter with minor learning curves
This thing zips! Be careful with the acceleration at first because it goes from zero to full speed quickly. Also, be careful with braking. The brake is extremely touch sensitive, so if you push too hard, you’re going to fly off of it. Great lights, great tires. I wish the handlebars went out a little more. My criticisms aside, I’ll be keeping this scooter. It’s a bit of a learning curve, but I love it.Also…WEAR A HELMET.

Solid e-scooter
My likes:-dual rear suspension,-underglow lighting underneath the deck of the scooter,-a rear caliper break and regenerative brake system,-Good battery life (25 miles per charge)-19 mph top speed-Easy to assemble out of box-Easy to carry using fold down stem and not too heavy to carry around.-Solid construction-Easy to store away-versatile-offers a free app that works with the scooter to change features and settings for the scooterMy dislikes: A little pricey (msrp:$650 on Hiboy.com- when not at discount price)The companion app used with the Hiboy scooter could use a better way to connect via Bluetooth.

Solid tires have rougher ride, but the durability is worth it
Put 2,000 miles on the S2 Pro. Back and forth to work 6 days/week for 7 months. I weigh 260 and carry and added 10 pounds, but still maxes at 18mph.Max distance is around 12 miles, with last miles being slower.I had to replace the accelerator switch, which they sent and arrived a week later. I drove in the rain which seemed to cause it. But I’ve driven in rain with fixed one without issue.Had to replace the charger once, it burnt out.. but no fire or even smell. That was at around 1500 miles of charging.I’m satisfied. Even at 30cents per kWh (which is high) .. it costs 12cents to fully charge.Being heavier I think the air-filled tires go flat more. It’s expensive or difficult to change tires. These solid tires have been great, just a rougher ride. Tradeoff is worth it for me.

Perfect for small town living!
This scooter is great so far. I live in a small town and use it for commuting to work and running errands. It works great. The only reason I’m giving it a 4-star review instead of 5 is that it was missing the screws to attach the handle bars.

Fun to use, but small platform
Fun to use, but it’s starting to make noise for the short amount of time it’s used. Mainly used in the neighborhood. Function best for me at 9-10 mph.

Vibrates a lot, good flat performance, not so great climbing hills
I really like the overall design & build quality. The lighting system well done with a nice bright headlight, red side runner lights on both sides & a rear light on the tail fender. The built in fenders are nice inclusion. The mechanical disk brake was properly adjusted & works great. The front electronic regeneration red button system works fantastically, modulates nice & smooth & there is really no need to use the rear disc brake in most situations. The coolest feature is the cruise control, that you turn on in the app, then if you hold the throttle at the same speed for 5 seconds it will beep & show a steering wheel on the display the indicates you have accessed cruise control, that way you do not have to hold down the thumb throttle to cruise longer distance or on longer rides. You can also use the app settings to make it go from a stop with the thumb switch throttle, the first thing I changed in the app. The app is well developed too, seems to pair with my iPhone quickly & has quick intuitive access to all the adjustable functions! There is some German mixed in with the English lol 🙂 I wish it had better hill performance, thinking that 500w would be enough, and it can make it up the small relatively steep hill in the entry of our complex at 4-7 mph at full throttle with me at 170 lbs + clothing & gear, so if you are smaller or lighter I am sure it will work even better! For big hill climbing or off road, you need to get a scooter with 800w in both wheels, bigger tires, full suspension, this is a paved surface queen that rides smooth as butter on smooth roadways but translates any surface irregularity into wrist pounding vibrations, or has excellence feedback if thats a positive with you! I think this would be fantastic in a flat local with lots of smooth paved paths & trails. The rear suspension seems a little stiff from the factor, but is also thankfully adjustable. Putting the handlebar together out of the box took about 5 minutes. I let it fully charge to 100% until the charger light turned green before using it. I went fast for a few miles making the same loop out of my neighborhood, down the local main road, left on the wood bridges, back past the Kubota dealer, down the road the runs behind the local storage complex, up the wooden elevated walking path & back to the walkways in our housing complex & it went as fast as I would ever want to go on something with steering that twitchy or sensitive. Its more thrilling, faster & less stabile than the Segway miniPro we have been riding for 6+ years! I like it overall, but would love it if it had front suspension, and better hill climbing! Great overall value for what you are getting. Its bigger than I though it would be and at 36 lbs, I am glad it is not any heavier. I carried it up a couple flights of stairs & its at that mass level where most people would not want to lift anything heavier into their trunk. This is part of the reason I went with the S2 Pro, it had just enough performance, was just light enough, striking a balance between cost, mass & performance. The scooters with 2 motors & higher speed also cost 2x more & weight about 2x as much, so I hope that makes sense! I wish it came with a better higher speed or more powerful charger too, since the charging takes many hours!

Excellent Scooter and World Class Customer Service!
The Fallen review really is broken into two aspects or two parts. Firstly, this has to have been some of the absolute best customer service that I received from any vendor or company out there in years! And I am not exaggerating. It is so refreshing when a company not only resolves an issue to your satisfaction, but actually forsees a problem and goes into action to solve that problem off before it really even takes root! In this case I fired off an email, not angrily, but very matter-of-fact, inquiring as to why the S2 Pro was being sold on the Highboy corporate site for the exact same money, but including the seat and seatpost that they are now trying to charge $59 more for on Amazon. I was simply 💯 confident that that was the case! Well, it turns out that I was woefully mistaken. I know, I know; it is in unfathomably hard to believe, but we are mistaken sometimes guys, we really are!! Well, the professionals at Highboy explained the error very thoroughly and very professionally and very politely. And, before I had even taken receipt of my wife’s brand new S2 Pro, they shipped out an extremely nice scooter bag free of charge! Over a $50 value! And they did all of this becauseI had a completely unsubstantiated gripe that I voiced flipently, without even taking the time to slow down and investigate the issue whatsoever! We do that many more times than we should do we not? ALL OF US….Anyway, this was truly remarkable customer service plain and simple. You can’t get most customer service departments to give you with a straight answer, much less give you something actually valuable when you were the one in the wrong!! So for that, I give them 10 Stars! We sure could use a lot more corporate with this sort of corporate culture out there that’s for sure!Secondly, the scooter itself. I had read some decent reviews and had just driven quite a few of my friends scooters. Since this one was on sale and not knowing anything about hi boy, I really wasn’t expecting much nothing spectacular nor anything so far. We’ll let me tell you, what I received is excellent and unexpected quality! This scooter is robust, solidly built and after just a few outings it is readily apparent that this machine will last for several years to come. Also we were very impressed with how intuitive the app is. I love the fact that the onboard controls are very simplistic and solid. Not a lot of buttons or patterns of button clicks to get you into different modes to get you confused and to cause you to wreck. Most of everything Beyond turning the lights on and off oh, the cruise control on and off, ET cie is handled through the app and not through the dashboard. This allows you to focus on what’s important, the ground whizzing by 20 miles an hour as you stand on a 4-5 inch wide platform on two wheels LOL… again, I’ve not ever owned an electric scooter, but on several electric skateboards and have run the gamut on those. I have owned everything from falls apart second timeout, two excellent quality and I would definitely put the S to Pro towards the latter end of the spectrum. If you’re looking for a good solid entry-level or even a machine for an experienced rider, you can’t go wrong with this machine and you cannot go wrong with the level of service received from High Point!

15 miles distance easy and I’m in top speed – UPDATE!!!
You can see old review below. What I want to add now is this… I have an insane number of miles On both my S2 pro Scooters. I have to be over 1000+ mile on both scooters easy and I mean each. They are running fine. Wheels are getting pretty worn and will replace soon. I’m not sure what the expected Service life is but this is just nuts mileage. When the weather is good I save an easy 120 miles a week on my SUV. April may june September October. I’m writing this because of some of the 1 star reviews saying these didn’t last. I’m sure they are true but it’s got to be fukes. I wish these things had odometer. I have a garmin GPS watch and started using it to record scooter rides …780 miles since over last 7 weeks between using both scooters. Btw I’m 200 pounds. I’m looking at New scooter but I’m really torn on Pneumatic wheels. These solid wheels are hard but I never worry about flats. My town is Resurfacing Roads soon. I’m mostly on smooth Trails But it takes me 1.25 to get to them and those roads little shot in some areas and rough. That will soon no longer be a factor. I think I’m solid when and if I replace these scooters. These s2 pros now are 100-150 $ cheaper now too. This thing is going an easy 15 miles distance and I’m NOT using the comfort mode. I’m sure it would get real close to the stated range. -I just think doing 12mph is just kinda slow if you have a destination in mind or a commute or a store to go to. The 19mph is nice and feels productive but not crazy fast. I live in a hilly area so i was a bit worried but i avoid the streets that are so hilly there are limited sight distances signs. I still think about buying another scooter at the Titan level hiboys, but this s2 pro is getting me everywhere i need or care to go for half or a third of the price. I got a hilly ride until i get to a 10mile trail in my area that leads to all local area stores. At that point the hills are very gradual. Example: if on a bike you’d need to drop your bike to 3 gear if you don’t want to work hard. the S2 pro never gets much slower that 15 maybe 13mph for a little bit at those points. than the other side the payoff is 20 to 21mph. Unless a bicyclist is really going at it like an animal i past up all bikers with ease – i think – but no one ahead of me stayed there so far. that’s simply because the scooter just keeps up the speed. if I’m on my bike and really pushing it for exercise – and I’m talking going at it… in the 10 miles trips i do in-between my big rides… the s2 pro knocks near 17 minutes off of it. Air filled tires maybe would feel better, but every time i run over some crap on side of road i say glad i got solid even if there is a loss of comfort compared to air fill tires. Friend of mine switched to solid tires on his brand scooter after repeated flats. He commutes in Brooklyn to ferry to Manhattan

Great value for the features
I got this for my son after the battery died on his (other brand) scooter and the choice was to spend $240 to replace the battery or buy a new scooter. The Hiboy is very responsive, a top speed on flat ground (130lb operator) of around 19MPH which is a little better than the other scooter’s 18MPH. The under-carriage lights are fun and I guess they could be a safety advantage but since they light up the road, they really don’t make the rider more visible at night. The only complaint is the other scooter used pneumatic tires and these are solid, so the ride with the Hiboy is much more bumpy. But, he loves that he hasn’t had a flat tire which was suprisingly frequent with his other scooter. Question for Hiboy engineers is why they would put the suspension on the back wheel instead of the front where it would be useful since the vibration going to your hands is where you really feel the bumps.

Love it
Bird, lime and other scooters have been locked out of downtown or controlled by reducing speed. I hated that and needed something where I am in control. This thing zips me where i need to go. Its a rough ride for sure but for $400 you cant beat it

Updated Review
UPDATE: Lann who is a supervisor at Hi-Boy got in touch with me and promised to make everything right. Lann kept his promise and I am more than satisfied with the end result as well as his communication and commitment to make everything right. The Hi-Boy scooter itself is a great product and with the exception of the battery issue we have never had any problems. After dealing with Lann, I would highly recommend buying from Hi-Boy.I purchased the s2pro in 2021, it has been mildy used for the two years, never used in the winter. I started having an issue with my battery as it wasn’t charging. I purchased a new charger(29.99) and that did not work. I reached out to support and was told I need to buy a new battery(189.00),. I bought it and it did not charge. I then was sent a new battery and charger and that didn’t work. I was then told I needed a new handlebar(60.00) , I purchased that and that didn’t work. Since what they told me to buy did not fix the problem, I asked for return labels to return everything. I was told I cannot return any of it. They told me this is what was needed to fix the problem , it did not work and now I cannot return what they told me would work is criminal. They told me they could give me a discount on a new scooter, i asked what the discount would be on the same scooter I have and they responded they could give a $10.00 discount.DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY , YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Rough riding on roads that have cracks across them.
First off… we purchased two of these for our vacation to have something different to try during our vacation. We are in our mid sixties, 150lbs and 220lbs, and watching the grandkids have so much fun on their e-scooters we thought getting these adult size scooters would be the ticket to us having fun with them. We were “not” disappointed. These are so much fun!!! Very controllable, powerful, long lasting battery life , compact able for shipping in the Jeep cargo area and fun but safe to ride at night with all the lighting. The only drawback so far is the stiff front end(no suspension, and hard pneumatic tires). On the other hand we chose the pneumatic tires for the reliability of no chance of a flat tire. The older (10 and up) kids love them and can control them very good with the higher ground clearance for leaning into the turns.Would liked to have had a wider area for our feet but can still feel comfortable once you get used to the narrow foot pad area.Over all these at very well built, riding time is great so far( hoping the batteries will hold up).Still having a hard time pairing the android app with one, although the other one paired up good with the iPhone app.

Built like a tank
Coming up on 1 year and 1300 km driven. It’s a tank. I’m 95kg and I do everything with it, weekly grocery shopping, clothes deliveries for my job, run errands… All I had to do in a year? Check the brakes (every 3 months) and tighten the handlebars (every month). Granted the solid tires do not provide the smoothest ride but you never have to deal with punctures. And I don’t use my car anymore on short commutes.

Decent competitor to other mid-range electric scooters!
Product came packaged well.Assembly was super simple. They already had all wires connected out of the box. All I had to do was cut a zip tie and cram the cable into the stem. Put in four allen screws and I was done. **Per a review on this scooter and many others, I am going to take them out and put some loctite on there and re-tighten them. With all the vibrations from riding, they can come out.**Battery was already at 75% out of the box.Rear double shocks make it a pretty comfortable ride. Two different types of breaks; A downhill & braking regenerative batteryThrottle is responsive and works perfectly.Speed control kicks in after roughly 5-6 seconds of cruising at same speed.Speedometer has hit 20mph but per some reviews I am pretty sure it is closer to 18. Still a decent speed at this price range.***The Ginger on Wheels review shows that this thing pretty much has 90% battery life. Once it hits 10% is slows to a crawl, then dies. Not sure how or why this happened, but it was all recorded. Keep that in mind for longer rides. 10% should be considered ZERO***As for the price: They offered a $30 off coupon via Amazon when I bought bringing the price to $519USD. The Ninebot MAX apparently hits $550 sometimes. That might be a better deal. However, at the $750+ price tag it sits at most of the time, the Hiboy S2 PRO @ $550 is a WAY BETTER DEAL.The app is actually really top notch for a $500 scooter. Can lock the wheel up (doesn’t prevent someone from running off with your scooter, though) Turn lights on and off, dictate top speed, change acceleration, cruise control settings, see statistics on the watts/volts/battery life, etc.In my first 48 hours of use, I am VERY happy with my purchase. I do recommend getting in a car and driving 19MPH so you see how fast you will be going. It is not that fast. If you want the 30+MPH scooters, you will be paying roughly double or more. This is a fine medium for me.(One thing I am mad about. Ordered scooter, Amazon tells me „Here Thursday.“ Ok, ready for it to arrive on Thursday. Shortly after ordering, Amazon says „Hey! Your scooter will be arriving a DAY EARLY!!! Expect it Wednesday“ So I go home after working all day expecting to take my kids for a ride on a new scooter. 5pm, 6pm, 8pm, 9pm…no scooter. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. 55 degrees in the winter shirt and shorts type of weather… It came the next day. So, for literally no reason Amazon got my hopes up and denied my happiness. They didn’t even have to tell me about an early shipment. Whatever. The day it came it was 35 degrees and windy. Same with the next day.)

Very Nice scooter. Good customer support
Excellent scooter. Easy to operate and store. I’m 6’3″ 200lbs and the scooter performs nicely. Its nothing sporty or fancy, but its great to commute between parking and work. It folds up easily and fits in the back of my car. The App is okay, but not necessary unless you want to Lock the scooter. However, the unit stays on when locked and battery will drain. So thats not a long-term solution to secure the scooter. My only complaint is that max speed bleeds off as the battery gets lower. By 50% battery, it only max out at 15mph. So definitely, keep it charged up if you want max speed. Also, no way you gonna get 25 mile range with regular start/stop use. And even if you could, my guess is youre only going 10mph when the battery gets below 20%.Edit (10/30/21). I asked about a second/replacement charger and customer support responded quickly and sent me a new unit without charge. Nicely done!Edit (12/9/21). At just over 2 months old, it STOPPED CHARGING. No „red“ charging indicator on either charger. It was disappointing to get only 2 months life out of a $500+ scooter. Apparently this is common issue to many. Sent email to customer support.Edit (12/13/21). Great Support response within 24 hours!! They sent photo instructions how to test the connections and battery. Upon opening the body, found that the 5A fuse (automotive blade style) was literally broken. Not burnt. Just cheap wires that broke inside the fuse body causing bad charging/battery connection. Replaced with new fuse and its like new.Edit (12/22/21). In light of my broken fuse. Customer support generously sent me a replacement battery too, which I received within 5 days!! Their support has been nothing short of generous. During normal business week, they have replied to all my emails within 24 hours. They have made every effort to make me a happy customer. The scooter continues to function well and I am enjoying it a lot. Thank you HiBoy!!!Update (1/6/22). Rear tire fender not big enough! Its the rainy season. The Scooter performs well in the wet. It is water resistant though Hiboy recommends not riding in the rain. Even so, riding the scooter on wet surfaces or through puddles–expect to get your backside splashed heavy with water/dirt. The rear fender is basically worthless, its far too short to effectively deflect water spray. I’m gonna try to MacGyver some kind of extension to get better protection.

Solid commuter
I’ve been using this in conjunction with public transport and it is the perfect missing piece to make commuting much easier. I used to drive EVERYWHERE, after moving to a more metropolitan area I decided to try going the no car route. A scooter like this is absolutely essential for getting around the city in a feasible manner. It goes up to 20 mph, plenty for most short trips. And it has a range of about 25 miles, though if you load up on the weight capacity you’re looking at more like 15 or so miles with a max speed around 17 mph. Most train and bus stops can get you within 3-5 miles of your destination. This scooter is perfect for covering those final few miles. 4 starts because the ride is a little rough and the durability is in question. I will update in 6 months or so to see how it’s held up. But where I am it costs over $1000 per month to own a car and in comparison an option like this is perfect. Pays for itself in less than a month after you factor in a parking fee, insurance, gas, regular maintenance, and general upkeep costs of owning a car. This thing weighs about 36 lbs and gets heavy very fast. As long as the places you are going have escalators/elevators/ramps you will be totally fine, not good to carry around more than 10 mins or so before it feels very heavy. My commute has a ramp or an escalator everywhere so this was not a problem for me.If you are looking to regularly use an e-scooter like this I would recommend ordering locking mountain bike grips to replace the factory grips (most cost around $15-30, and make a big difference), ordering riding gloves (if you live somewhere windy your fingers can get cold very quickly), and a good helmet (available for around $20 and can literally save your bodily autonomy when experiencing a crash over 15 mph).
