5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted (so far)
Exactly what I wanted so far. Wanted something sturdy, reliable, and fast to replace my old dell G15. A lot of people have issues right out of the box and early on or with dead pixels. I haven’t had any of those issues.I’ve owned for almost a week and so far everything has been great, zero issues. Display looks great, sound is so so, performance is amazing. One thing is that the cpu temps are high because the i9 runs so hot, however you will not feel a thing because even when I was running 80C playing games, I couldn’t even feel it. Port selection is also awesome, I have everything I need. I do not use it on battery, so I cannot comment on that, however I have heard it’s not the best unless you specifically set it up for that. This thing should be able to handle basically any game you throw at it, you just might want to upgrade the ram so it’s on par with the other specs. I’m not sure if I’ll have issues in the near future, but so far the laptops been pretty perfect.NEED TO KNOWS FOR NEW BUYERS:1: Manually select gpu only in nvidia control panel instead of integrated graphics which is on by default for whatever reason (haven’t had that happen for other laptops)2: uninstall armory crate and install g-helper. Not only does this free up resources and battery life, g-helper is a much more lightweight and easy to use version of armory crate that has the same functionality (armory crate sucks)3: You are buying a 13th gen i9 that runs very hot, UNDERVOLT! Download throttlestop (both this and g-helper are very safe and vetted don’t worry). Throttlestop and g helper are defaulted to not start on startup, so if you mess something up, just reboot and you should be fine. Search up what others did for their i9-13980HX and see what works for you. My undervolt did pretty amazing, going from constant 80C while playing an fps game, to only 60-65C mostly hovering between 61-63 while only taking a small performance hit(350-550 frames to 300-400). Not only will this help the longevity of the cpu, but your fans won’t be nearly as loud. And so far the high temps I’ve seen my gpu go up to undervolt or not, is 60C.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value and performance
Product ID: G614JI-AS94.Price: $1649.Pros:- Value. The I9-13980HX + GeForce RTX 4070 are a step above mid-tier hardware and are offered here at a reasonable price compared to other „gaming laptops.“- Performance. I’ve been able to play the newest and biggest games all on high / very high settings. I’ve had no issues, and I feel as if the games look and play great.- Upgradability. I’ve NOT upgraded my machine as I don’t wish to void the warranty. However, and as there was confusion in other reviews, I have personally spoken directly with ASUS support ,as well as Crucial support, and I’ve confirmed that YES this machine can be upgraded to 64GB of Ram (2x 32GB sticks) and YES there is an available open SSD slot. As such, and considering current prices of Ram and SSDs, you can scale this up to 64GB Ram and add second SSD for a D-drive for a minimal additional investment to really finish out this machine.- Wifi. I get SIGNIFICANTLY better wireless Internet speeds on this device than the older gaming laptop I replaced. Did not expect that, but was pleasantly surprised.- Sounds. Speakers sound good enough. Music through Spotify is crisp and bass gets picked up okay too.Cons:- Battery life. When playing a video game on battery power, I get about only 45-minutes of game time, which is disappointing. However, performance seems to remain higher than expected. When general web browsing or doing home office tasks, I get about 3 hours. When streaming content, such as Netflix, I about about 2 hours, which is frustrating as you can’t really watch a movie on a single charge.- Number pad. I was expecting a digital number pad or display as part of the track pad per the advertisement. This model number, G614JI-AS94, does not have that feature and that was very disappointing and seemed misleading.- Touchpad. Doesn’t feel as responsive as the touchpad on the older gaming laptop I replaced. Additionally, oftentimes after exiting a video game the touchpad will outright not work and require a device restart.- Lights. As an adult, the multicolored lights are annoying and not something I’m interested in. It was not immediately intuitive on how to turn them off, but I found out that you can do so through the included software.- Startup sound. It’s awful and ear piercing! I can’t figure out how to turn it off.- Camera. Would have liked a better resolution here as it’s not great.Indifferent:- Screen. I’m not a „gamer“ so I don’t really care or know anything about refresh rate. For me, it seems bright, clear, and things look good! However, I personally wish it was a 15.6 inch machine and not the 16 inch, as I’d prefer a slightly smaller and wider screen than this square.- Ports. Good enough for me and has everything I needed. However, some people might wish for more options. Conclusion:If you’re not a real gamer, but want to play games, this is a great option that offers value and performance along with upgradability.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect laptop!
So I had a fully upgraded Alienware M16 for about 3 months. Within those 3 months, I’ve had Dell replace the board twice and my issues still weren’t resolved. To make a long story short, they did a full refund (thankfully) and after doing a lot of research and watching a ton of videos I decided to pull the trigger on the ROG STRIX G16 and I’m glad I did! I bought the I9 13980HX/RTX 4070/16GB ram and 1tb SSD. I upgraded it to 64gb of ram (yes it’s compatible as you can see in the photo I posted) it’s also compatible to run at 5200mhz instead of the slower 4800mhz. It also has a 2nd SSD slot so it has 2 of the crucial T500 2tb SSD’s in it for a total of 4tb now. This laptop is fast and extremely solid and can run anything including games at high settings without a problem. I got the 165hz panel and I guess I was lucky because I don’t have the infamous backlight bleed. It’s vibrant, and very crisp. The keyboard is nice and highly customizable and nice and bright. It’s not mechanical but still has a nice feel to it. The mouse pad is large and responsive. The speakers surprisingly sound really nice considering they’re laptop speakers (I’m actually impressed) and as far as heat, it stays between 65-72 degrees under heavy load so I couldn’t be happier about that! I love this laptop and it puts other „high quality“ systems to shame! I really don’t have any cons about it as of now. If something comes up, I’ll come back and update my review but as of now, I’d definitely recommend buying it if you’re in the market! I can’t stress that enough! It’s a beast and I love it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Mostly a review of the keyboard
First a few short notes on things other than the keyboard:My least favorite thing about this laptop is the coil whine. At one point it sounded like a 19.2kbaud modem connecting, and I was considering returning it just because of that, but it was running the GPU off USB power, and I discovered that it’s not nearly as bad when using the included power brick (which you want to do anyway because the GPU can’t run at full power without it). I think it will be tolerable, but we’ll see. It is not only when the dGPU is running.I have the 1200p 165kHz screen, and it does have some very noticeable backlight bleed, but it’s totally fine for coding and web browsing, and I use an external monitor for content creation anyway.I’ve heard that it works fine to upgrade the RAM to 64GB, even though Asus says the limit is 32; I’ll update this review in a few days when my upgrade kit arrives. UPDATE: It’s working. There was a scary minute when it seemed like it wasn’t going to turn on, but then it did; I have no idea what that was about.I wish it was thinner and lighter, but I decided I could compromise on that since I don’t carry my laptops around all that much these days.Armoury Crate seemed to work ok for me, but it’s very bloated. Luckily I discovered there is now a lightweight replacement called G-Helper. Asus ought to include this instead of Armoury Crate, or at least advertise its existence and make it easy to switch. It does everything at least as well, including controlling the fans and RGB lighting and remapping the customizable function keys.Ok, the keyboard. tl;dr: it’s pretty good.Keyboards are important to me as a coder (and writer and other things), and although I spend the majority of my time at my desk with an external keyboard, mouse, and monitor, I do like to be able to work elsewhere, and sometimes I work in a client’s office where I don’t have access to a good external keyboard. The keyboard was an important factor in my choice of this laptop. For one thing, its layout is my favorite type: it has an extra column of keys at the right, but not a full keypad. On this one they’re designed as media control keys (play/pause, stop, back, forward), but I map them to Home/End/PgUp/PgDn to match my desktop keyboard. (Asus advertised that there were customizable hot keys, but that turned out to mean only the 5 little keys at the top, so I’m using AutoHotKey, which I use for other things anyway.)The full-size arrow keys are also a good match. It would have been better if they didn’t include the Fn and PrtSc keys in the bottom row; then they could have increased the size of the control keys and space bar. I’d suggest having Fn further off the the left, and PrtSc somewhere at the top.The F1-F12 function keys are smaller and not quite where I’m used to them, but I can adjust. They actually act as F1-F12 by default, and you have to use the Fn key to use their special functions like adjusting screen brightness. Fn+Esc doesn’t seem to change this; I think there’s a way but I like it this way anyway. There are five additional keys at the very top, which are the customizable hot keys Asus advertises. By default they are volume down, volume up, microphone mute, fan mode, and open Armoury Crate. If you don’t have Armoury Crate or G-Helper installed, it seems like there’s no way to make use of the 4th and 5th ones; they don’t send a code that AutoHotKey can use. The first 3 continue to have their default functions.Per-key RGB seems silly to me, but I like that I can set it to some color other than white. It’s hard to get it to do orange/amber or yellow; yellow ends up green, and orange is just a sort of yellowish-greenish-off-white. I’m leaving it on that color all the time, because the key labels are hard to see otherwise except in really good light. The lighting is a bit uneven, but it does the job.For some reason the F1-F12 labels on the function keys are just printed on and don’t let light through, but it’s easy to remember where they are.The keyboard feels good. Clicky but not terribly loud. Decent travel, and the key caps are very slightly concave (I didn’t even consciously notice at first, but this does contribute to the nice feel). This version of the laptop does not have any transparent keys, nor does it have the touchpad that can turn into a keypad. I’m totally fine with this.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good product
I think it’s a good product and worth the money, but it’s not perfect. Be aware that Asus’s advertising can be a bit confusing. This model does not have an illuminated numpad on the trackpad. Additionally, it doesn’t have a camera compatible with Windows Hello or a fingerprint reader, so you always have to enter a PIN to log in.Regarding battery life, I haven’t been able to make it last more than 3 hours, which might be an issue with my settings. The screen is good, but there is noticeable light bleed.Overall, I don’t regret the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes
It’s great, had some difficulties at first but it just fixed itself and works great! if your wanna get a monitor for it just know having a higher hz is going to lower (example: I got a 380hz monitor using it only gave me 240hz, then getting a 240hz monitor only using 144hz) so using higher hz well lower it and using lower hz well lower it even more

5.0 out of 5 stars AN Incredible Machine for Creative Work
I have been struggling with upgrade all my hardware and for video post and cad design. I initially bought this machine to replace a laptop but its performance and value compete with desktops nearly double the price. First off it needs 64GB of RAM so get the upgrade RAM it’s well worth it. It tears through rending video frames at 4k in Premier Pro, handles frame rendering in after effects extremely well, 3D rendering in Adobe Stager is pretty fast for even complex scenes (in 3D my desktop 4090 PC performs noticeably better) and it handles 3D design and rendering AutoDesk Fusion360 very well. In photoshop it handles neural filters with ease, even on huge files it processes on machine in minuets. I can setup very large illustrator files with ease making large designs a breeze. Overall its an impressive machine for designers and creators. As for cooling, it is processing a lot at max performance settings and does get hot, it needs to be on a stand with clean cool airflow to run at max power. For the price it is unbeatable imo and I am considering getting another to have as a desk top.

4.0 out of 5 stars As of July 2024…
It will run whatever you throw at it, tested it with all current triple A games and none has dropped below 70fps on max settings including poorly optimized games. It is a beast for gaming. I don’t really do anything other than gaming with it but I imagine it’s really good for editing. Only thing keeping me from a 5 star rating it’s that the keyboard tends to stop working randomly but a simple restart will fix it.

5.0 out of 5 stars MUY SATISFECHO con el excelente desempeño!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars FIRST TIME Start Ups May Be Slow
Overall a solid working product. I have the RTX 4070 version. Understand it may take time to fully boot up, the first review given for this laptop talked about the black screen and how it never displayed anything on boot up. That reviewer unfortunately may have gotten a defective unit which happens and sorry that person had to go through that. With my unit it did take 2-3 minutes to fully boot up and get working the first time, so GIVE IT TIME. I don’t know why ASUS laptops sometimes have long first time startups. Just be patient for a few minutes. Just note it may not work for everyone, take action at your own discretion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great specifications but terrible battery life!
it does exactly what you’d want it to do and more, excellent parts inside for the price in my opinion with a nice outside design that isn’t overly flashy or obnoxious, just don’t plan on using it off the power cord for very long.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for gaming!

Powerful, pretty good for the price, haven’t had any issues with the screen or overheating (yet) like some other comments mentioned.I like how the keyboard feels and how the shortcut keys are laid out, which is the main reason I choose Asus laptops. (This is my 4th Asus laptop.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Graphics are beautiful
The lap top handles triple A games right out of the box with no overclocking needed. For example it can run Metro Exodus on max graphics at about 100 fps and M&B Bannerlord with equivalent settings at about 150 FPS. Though I must say it gets hot fast, after about 30 minutes of run time the GPU makes it to 70 degrees C, so I don’t recommend having this on your lap unless your legs are cold. I also recommend you get some headphones with this, because the fans are also quite loud. If you want a minimalistic laptop that quietly purrs, maybe keep shopping. If you’re more performance oriented then this is likely the one for you.Update: I got a cooling pad for this and it helped keep GPU temperatures under 80°C. I also highly recommend you look for DLSS support in any game you buy because it lowers power utilization, temperatures, while maintaining a respectable FPS rate and a decent fan noise level. Overall, performance is great while gaming.

5.0 out of 5 stars Apr/2/2023 Absolute beast of a machine
I got the i9-13980hx with the RTX 4070 version.First thing I did when I received the laptop was open it up and replace the 2x8gb ddr5 with 2x16gb ddr5 and added my own additional m.2I feel kinda dumb for this next part, but I started running benchmarks from every major benchmark software that is commonly used to test computers. My thermals were running crazy hot. I was so worried that this was going to be a terrible heat monster of a machine. This is the part that made me feel dumb.. Somehow I completely forgot the benchmarking software is pushing the CPU to 100% usage and keeping it there. That’s why it was getting so hot. After playing a few games on ultra settings (Resident Evil Village, Fallout 76, 7 Days to Die) I can honestly say that none of them pushed this machine to the point that it was overheating, even on ULTRA settings. Resident Evil Village used to slaughter my last laptop with a 12th gen i7 and 3060. This i9/4070 put Resident Evil Village in the corner and said you do what I tell you to do, punk.I am using a $20 common cooling pad and I am having zero thermal problems in games. I am actually a little bit astonished at how well this hardware handles pretty much anything thrown its way.I give this thing a 9.9 out of 10. Knocking off .1 because whoever put the intel core i9 and nvidia RTX stickers on the laptop.. they made them slightly crooked. My OCD does not appreciate that lolMinus the slightly crooked stickers, this is a 10/10 for me. I love this thing so far

5.0 out of 5 stars The first impression is WOW – Quality
When i open the box my impression was WOW!Loved the material it is made of, loved the customer support it offered. Loved the pet that comes with it, also self diagnostic software. The electricity cord is extra long than other brand. I upgraded the RAM memory from 16 to 64.. you get them right here in Amazon – @ a decent cost. Super easy to install.Disliked a little … the keyboard… but i am used to big keyboards. Just a matter of me getting used to it. The keyboard is very programmable… i have not played with it…Time will tell… if my opinion changes i will be back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything is perfect, but!
The first I don’t like is illumination of the keyboard, you see the letters are not white they transparent on the black background which is makes them very hard to see under low light. Even if is a daytime but kind of cloudy. So, you almost always need to use a backlight which is not really comfortable at least for me.Battery life is just ok, nothing special unless you forcefully reduce performance in general and won’t going to use a backlight or GPU.From the good is surprisingly nice sound quality of the speakers, yes is still a laptop kinda sound but you know… And not too loud cooling system under maximum load which is a big plus. And I think is ideal display all together including resolution and size of the panel, very comfortable for my eyes. I’m working all day and don’t field tired.

4.0 out of 5 stars For the price the camera should be better.
This is a great gaming computer but it does have a few shortfalls for a computer that is in it’s price point. The G614JI has great performance, build quality, design. But it lacks a number pad and an IR camera for facial recognition. Some of the models shown in other places, the touch pad doubles as a numpad but not on this model. As for the camera, there is a 720p camera but it is not an IR camera so Windows Hello is not available. It also lacks a fingerprint scanner. As for gaming, It has taken everything I have installed with no issues and plays them at the highest settings with no problems. It’s a great computer for my needs but the lack of things that should be a given keeps it from getting 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars So far great upgrade from previous Legion
Don’t get me wrong I LOVED my Legion 5 but it started to fall apart. I loved this Strix, the first time I got an ASUS machine.Only thing I WISH it had was dedicated F keys and well a full size keyboard with number pad like the Legion 5.Other than that I love the heat dispersing and LED lights are cool but not necessary for me.I upgraded it and added a Samsung 980 pro 2tb nvme and added 32 gb crucial ram and while the original specs were great I can do my ADHD multi-tasking of playing games, editing videos etc without any performance issues. The keyboard keys are great and feel solid when you type. the screen is amazing. I haven’t checked the battery life but let’s get real if you are playing a game on battery power it prob not the best idea.Overall impressed and satisfied with the purchase. Would recommend to friends/family/colleagues.But add an option for a Full KEYBOARD FOR US old folks who like to have num pad and dedicated F keys lol but that is such a minor thing.

4.0 out of 5 stars bought and returned!
I originally purchased this laptop under the guise that it had the numberpad built into the track pad.Several photos indicated it did however that was definitely not the case. They have since updated the photos on the listing for this model at least. I had already doubled the ram and hard drive at that point but it is what it is.Instead I went with a more powerful Legion with a built in numberpad and have had absolutely no issues!

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING gaming laptop
I am an old school gamer and have been gaming as long as I can remember. When it comes to choosing laptops I am super picky so when I found this one it got me really excited because i know what it takes to be a great system. The cooling on this tells you everything you need to know about the thought they put behind it. It delivers amazing speed and phenomenal graphics with FPS 150 on average for most games and stays super cool to the touch because of the overall design of the case. I love the keyboard because it reminds me of a conventional, old school feel but with the added softness of more modern designs. The laptop is genuinely fool proof even for those who dont know much about what a great PC should have to run high demand games. I also use this as a work laptop and absolutely love it. Highly recommend for everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gaming laptop for game enthusiasts!
This laptop is a dream! I had the ROG strix G16 with RTX 4070 . The i9 13980hx has all the cores i need for the heavy deanding games and 3d modeling softwares. The battery life has been awesome on this thing. Keeping it on in Battery Saver mode still reserved great brightness and speed and im currenlty seeing 5-7hrs depending on my use case. Im happy i invested in this incredible device.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Tweak to Speed
I was concerned about the lackluster performance of this top end system. Installing a Samsung 990 SSD as the boot drive made all the difference. That, and turning off drive encryption gave me a system that is a pure joy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Overall
The laptop is overall great, other than not having cameras for some models, and a pretty short battery life, there isn’t much to complain about. Getting delivered a broken laptop is something that has to deal with the shipping industry since most companies ALWAYS check their products before shipment. I got mine recently and I am in shock. My overall wifi connection was 1-2x better. I went from 30 Mbps to 50 Mbps. I thought it was a problem with my wifi router, but no, it was my laptop. i5, rtx 2060. My ping was a stable 40ms, so pretty decent. The quality and gameplay is absolutely STUNNING! I could watch videos crystal clear. I bought the 300hz and 165hz for a comparison, and now I use my 300hz for movies, streaming, watching shorts, etc. I use the 165hz for gaming, work, music, etc. I would recommend this laptop model as a cheap starter budget laptop to those who cannot afford a desktop pc. It rivals with the Acer Nitro 5, but I think ASUS ROG takes the win here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed with the RTX 4070
Because AI is actually a lot of fun, I upgraded my laptop to one with the RTX 4070; but, was disappointed that the VRAM is not sufficient for many of the new LLM. My own fault, I FOMO’d without really understanding. Also, boots a little slow, even after disabling all the startups. Other than that, it runs great! I upgraded both the RAM and Storage and the process couldn’t be easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for gaming and productivity!
LOVE IT! This laptop looks so sleek and sexy and the performance is amazing. My FPS went off the charts and I was able to do my programming tasks a lot faster as well. The keyboard feels comfortable to type on, the ports are definitely enough, and the RGB lighting is nice to look at it (see pic). I highly recommend this laptop for anyone who needs a powerhorse of a laptop!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good laptop but terrible power supply!
Works great! I am very happy with its performance so far. Finally being able to play God of War and Cyberpunk on high or even ultra is nice. However, the charger that came with the laptop has a super loose port for the wall outlet cable. I can’t move the adapter without it trying to wiggle itself free. This is causing a really annoying pop up every so often stating that the charger is ‘inserted incorrectly’ even though it’s charging fine. I tried my old Asus power supply with no issues, but that one has a lower amperage so I’ll find a suitable replacement.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty powerful laptop for the money
This thing is a beast of a laptop, Intel’s top of the line mobile processor paired with a 140 watt 4070 means top tier mobile gaming.I personally found the RAM and storage to be a bit on the lighter side, hence my ordering an additional 2Tb SSD and 64Gb of DDR5 at the factory 4800 speed, which worked flawlessly in spite of Asus claiming a max of 32Gb.So far it has passed every benchmark I have thrown at it with ZERO issues and has proved to be a stable and well performing powerhouse without breaking the bank or turning my gaming space into an oven.A solid purchase and worth every dime.

4.0 out of 5 stars Matching value and performance
The 2 main consideration I had when getting a laptop for my son was the screen for school work and GPU for gaming. QHD screen and 4080/4090 GPU were my preference but they were priced out of my budget. So when this was discounted during Prime Day in Oct 2023 @ USD1,679.99, it made it easier to accept I had to settle for FHD and 4070.My worries turn out to be unfounded. Windows scaling helps to „increase“ screen estate so FHD 1200p turns out to enough for school work. Despite the thin screen bezel which I like very much as it helps to reduce the overall size of a 16″, the build quality is solid.4070 also appears to be a good match with FHD 1200p without blowing the budget as it has no issue running games at high/ultra settings. I also tested the bundled Alan Wake 2 with good performance. The keyboard is also nice for school work and gaming.Battery ain’t great for gaming despite at balance setting but this is expected when gaming. This does not concern me as the laptop would always be near a power source when gaming.Disclosure: this review is for warranty extension from ASUS.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight, quiet, fast. 24 core CPU. 4070 RTX, good value for the money, needs more memory though.
Nice laptop. Has the new 24-core processor so it’s quick. NVidia RTX 4070 video is good, would be awesome with a TI. Came with 16GB of memory – some conflicting information intimated that it could take 64GB, but i don’t think so – looks like only 32GB of DDR5 and BOTH slots have to be populated. Opening the case is really simple, just a few screws and the memory slots right on top so no other disassembly needed to get to them. I had trouble finding compatible memory for it. It comes with Windows 11 Home, and a ton of ASUS extra bloatware stuff that doesn’t help in my opinion – I idled it right from the get-go. It also had all the extra junk from MicroSloth to get rid of. Gaming-wise it handled everything with decent frame-rate response (assuming you upgrade the memory first) . It is not heavy – pretty light and tough casing which is nice, and the screen is pretty and fast. Not too many USB ports though, so don’t expect to plug a whole lot of extras in without an extender box. I found I had some issues with the Thunderbolt for video. VERY quiet fans and runs pretty cool temperature-wise at full power. They did that by offloading the power needs to the brick (which also accounts for the light-weight of the unit itself). The brick gets pretty hot and is heavy – but I guess I would rather that be warm than the laptop itself. Overall I like it – especially the CPU having all those cores – makes games nice and smooth, and it’s the best price for the 24-core processor you will find – at least right now. Also, typical ASUS good-quality. Game with it – it’s a good machine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast, flawless, high gear mode!
Well it performs so well on this laptop that run anything games it throws at. So the only slight thing is does indeed run a little bit warmth. Between 90-95C heavily loads intensive gaming that is demanding most cpu usage and gpu usage too. But that not all it can handle ultra and highest maximum graphic quality settings that involves RAY TRACING WHOOPING ON TOP. of that and you still get a solid performance frames averaging 67 fps to 80s range mid to 100s frames on average the most. And this laptop is unique so you have to keep in mind not to freak out the cpu temps hitting 90-95C which is normal for the i9 13980HX with 24 Cores…. And 32 frigging logical processor and that is a lot of darn cores to run it. And that take cpu temps at normal temperatures rates between 90-95C on heavy load which was designed to run a little hot.The graphic cards itself does have 8Gb vram if you are concerned about the size of vram saying as 6gb it is not it actually 8 GB dedicated VRam.

5.0 out of 5 stars overall excellent performance machine
i was concerned about issues with heating, so I purchased a cooling pad from Coorel and thankfully the laptop doesn’t get too hot during long gaming sessions. as other reviews have noted, with additional cooling options you’re looking at 60-65c temperatures when gaming. i’ve tried multiple high end VR titles and they all run smoothly, even the recently released Dragon’s Dogma 2, which has been criticized for not being well optimized, runs good at 60fps on high settings. you can customize the laptop settings using the Armoury Crate app that’s included as well. only minor nitpick is the lack of a numpad on the right side of the keyboard, and the touch pad seems excessively large, but overall I am very satisfied with this purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Gaming Laptop
This is my third gaming laptop but first Asus. I have to say it out shines my previous alienware laptops. It’s faster, better graphics, the rgb is nice but not overly done. This clearly could have to do with new technology but it feels more solid, runs warm when gaming but when packing this type of graphics you epect it. Battery life is on par for what you would expect. Overall design is great!
